Hunters need some love

So I haven't put a ton of time into the game (at least not compared to the hardcore players) because I'm actually waiting for the PC release before I go balls deep. BUT from what I've seen so far, Hunters are really underpowered right now compared to Titans and Warlocks. Both of these classes have huge ranged 1-hit AoE supers that last for days. Hunters have Golden Gun, which is single target and barely lasts long enough to run down a hallway, let alone all over the map. Sure, Hunters have Arcstrider which has a duration comparable to hammer titans and storm warlocks, but if's bullshit melee and we're more likely to get shot down by anyone with a bit of skill before we ever reach them. This is just the mechanics of the supers, not even the stats which are ridiculously skewed as well. Titans and Locks get bonus defense and are 2x harder to kill. Hunters don't get anything like that. "Oh but they have extra mobility". It's a damn FPS, mobility really doesn't mean shit unless you're running away. You literally cannot out strafe someone's aim if they're even a half decent shot. Anyways, I know this is less of a cohesive argument and more of a jumbled rant. It's early and I haven't had any coffee yet. Just thought I'd bitch.

    • Well. I had a long reply to this but my browser messed up. So here is a shortened version: ~outside of a point blank slam from striker or a nova bomb most supers require 2 hits to die or kill another super. Dawnblade can technically OHK if you hit them with both ticks of the blade. But it's hard to do. So I don't count it. ~gunslinger wether you have top tree with 3 shots. top tree with six shots. or bottom with three will always take 2 shots to kill another super aside from slinger. the only time this is different is if you take the bottom tree and headshots. ~slinger is the only subclass that doesn't get armor in super like D1. ~You actively gimp yourself by avoid the six shooter perk since damage drop off is severe on GG now and there are plenty of other things that force you to take 2 shots with GG in pvp. The extra time you get from not taking six shooter is a null benefit in the long run. ~Choose your style. If you want to be the best slinging slayer take the top tree. Activate when the enemy team is holding or pushing a choke. If you want to be a super slayer you take the bottom tree and activate when they are pushing with a super or your team is collapsing on them. Learn to always hit headshots. ~arc strider super is actually amazing. I almost always net 2 kills. sometimes 3. it's all about maximizing your dodge. and knowing when to pop the super. for me that occurs when the enemy team is pushing/collapsing on us. especially with supers.

    • Actually both night stalker super and arc strider super have damage resistence comparable to locks and titans. Gunslinger is still the only super like destiny 1 where you get no damage reduction. GG doesn't one shot anymore unless you shoot another slinger super wise. You can if you run the bottom tree and headshot though. The 6 shot tree super wise anyway is more about using it to deny a super push. or to break up a well defended hallway. Not to roam like D1. If you want to be a super killer you go the bottom tree. Supers in this game for the most part need 2 hits on anyone to secure a kill. Nova bomb and slam from fist of havoc (if on top of the enemy super) are the only 2 exceptions to this. But nova is a one and done super. and Fist is pretty easy to avoid/kill mid super with your own super due to it's reduced range. and your leap covers much less distance now. Dawnblade "technically" one hits some supers if you hit them dead center with your arc because it will tick twice then. But only then. But that's stupidly hard to do even with the bottom tree. SO I personally don't count that. If you purposely avoid the 6 shooter perk you are actively hurting yourself. the only bonus you get for doing that is more time in your super. Which is pointless. There are many things in pvp that take 2 of your shots to kill. not to mention GG in any state has severe damage drop off.So that extra time you get to round the corner to map someone is wasted. You're better off choosing the role you want. If you want to be a personal slayer you take the six shots and only pop your super when the enemy team is pushing a choke or holding it. If you want to be the super slayer/extra time to line shots you take the bottom tree. and pop it when your team decides to collapse on the enemy or if they decide to push you with a super. And you need to learn to headshot regardless. Both trees are good in pvp. so it's not like you're hurting yourself with going for either. The only legit way to actually hurt yourself in this game is if you try to min max your class to adhere to any tactics from D1.

    • Omg AMEN!!!! 1 v 1 against Titan and warlocks is returded!!!! They have so much more def it’s ridiculous. Ran test with friends. 3 Mida shits = hunter has a slice or health. Titan and warlock, half bar... mobility gtfo I see warlocks and titans running almost as fast as hunters. Need some love it’s completely imbalanced atm. Not saying needs boost but it needs a small rework
