They explained away "the darkness," easy enough.
Didn't make sense, couldn't define it, so they nerfed it into complete nothingness. It's not even part of Destiny 2.

Let me know how ya like it. I'll reserve judgement 60 days after release. If trustworthy reviews show promise, I'm in. If the salt continues to flow, I didn't waste my money.
-
I was actually pretty annoyed that NONE of Destiny 1's DLC continued the main story.
-
It did continue it, but in a monster-of-the-week format. Now, it looks like we're hitting the major arcs.
-
True.
-
They have said that it will be returning later though, so this I am less concerned about. It's stuff like the Exo Stranger that concerns me, where they are planning to let it go forever.
-
They never said they'd let it go forever, just that she isn't relevant to the current events. It's possible that we may get a focus on her when we face the central Vex force.
-
Luke Smith said that there's a world where we learn nothing about her, and a world where she's a star of a comic book or cartoon. The indications that he gave were that we would not see her again in the video games.
-
Not exactly. He said if we learn more about her. Perhaps she'll remain a mystery to players. Perhaps there'll be a subseries all about her.
-
Agreed. I will definitely postpone my purchase until well after the release. I'm gonna wait for trustworthy reviews and general consensus, before I purchase.
