I believe that the Golden Gun all hunters use was modeled by the Last Word, like the first Golden Gun was the Last Word super powered.
I came to this after reading the grimoire card "Ghost Fragment: The Last Word 4." Many have discussed how here Renegade Hunter Shin Malphur used the Golden Gun to defeat Dredgen Yor, the original wielder of the Thorn hand cannon. But I believe that with the use of his Light and "Reflex and purpose merged with anger, clarity and an overwhelming need for just that... an end." he was able to transform the Last Word into the first Golden Gun and do the following:
In step with my motion, the fire within burst into focus – through my shoulder, down my arm – as my finger closed on the trigger of my third father’s cannon.
Two shots. Two bullets engulfed in an angry glow. "
and at the end of this battle, Shin did the following
"...as I closed my grip, allowing Jaren’s cannon, now my own, to have the last, loud word.
Jaren is Shin's "third father" as mentioned from grimoire card "Ghost Fragment: The Last Word 2," and mentioned from above, he used his "third father's cannon" to fire the first two Golden Gun bullets, and then explicitly mentioned that he wanted "Jaren's cannon" to fire the last bullet.
What convinces me further that the Last Word became the now widely used Golden Gun is at the time I believe the Golden Gun had not existed. If it did, it could and would have changed the tide of many battles. I believe that all supers that are currently used were crafted by Guardians, not the Traveler. I believe that supers were created by guardians to better prepare themselves and grow for future battles and then these techniques are taught to new Guardians. So I see that Shin was able to transform the Last Word into the Golden Gun and then teach others how to use the Golden Gun.
For those who are a bit skeptical, I like to just look at the two side by side. I have yet to figure out how to screenshot the Golden Gun and Last Word in game to compare them side by side, but from the help of friends, I see that the Golden Gun and Last Word have striking resemblances, such as the barrel of each.
Do you believe the Last Word became the first Golden Gun? Please feel free to comment

Edited by The Warden: 11/8/2016 2:14:46 PMHey, sorry but no one is responding in Recruitment. I need 4 people, at least level 25 to help me with VoG. Trying to get Vex Mythoclast.
Sunsingers preferred, easy to cheese Atheon.
If Shin Malphur created the Golden Gun, then it is my sole belief that Wei Ning created the Fist of Havoc through sheer badassery.
-
Wasn't golden gun a fusion of a lot of exotic hand cannons
-
What I doubt is the relevancy. Shin's primary is The Last Word, so he always has it with him and equipped. Now if he has The Hawkmoon on him, does that mean the Golden Gun super ability would have never been actualized? Or is it simply the Golden Gun is also the Last Word in a more literal sense? One being a primary hand cannon, the other being a super ability.
-
Yeah, I picked up on that too. I mainly play Gunslinger on my Hunter so that made me really happy. I wonder if there's going to be lore like that for the Arc Blade and Shadowshot. Also, exotic bows, anyone?
-
The last word belongs to a hunter... Golden gun isn't a gun... It's just enflaming your current equipped primary... Bungie did not make animation models for other primarys. So they kept is as TLW, which is a hunters gun in the lore. So it fits.

Watch the Series "Firefly" Then the movie spin off "Serenity" The lead male character has a Golden Gun (and he JUST happens to be the voice of Cayde - Nathan Fillion) There's the lore right there...........

Just because they have the same model doesn't mean they are the same thing.

2014 wants their thread back my dude
-
Edited by SnakePayne86: 10/31/2016 5:12:57 PMI kinda think the golden gun is the golden gun and the last word is just Shin's primary weapon so naturally that's the gun he had on him at the time because he always has it on him.
-
You figured all that out just using year one grimoire cards? Maybe you can help us figure out who shot Lincoln...
-
You know someone was literally hired by Bungie to sit there and make all this crap up? They probably just used the last word as a skin because it was just easier than making it look like a different gun.
-
2014 just called. It wants this thread back.
;-)
I highly agree with you... The first time i seen the last word it automatically reminded me of golden gun idk why but i had a feeling these 2 items were connected in some sort of way
-
You're two years late to the party, my dude.

Perhaps the travellers light within the guardians formed the super, we haven't the power in us but need to give it shape. Fire is aggressive and represents anger, thus the golden gun is solar Lighting burns and has unique sting to it, and pierces the sky brightly, arc blade Void..most mysterious of them all. But to fix it into precision, to find focus in the nothingness, knowledge and wit pierces it all, with careful aim there is enlightenment. Shadowshot.
