Mystery: The Vault of Glass 3 A starfield. The stars swing slowly across the Ghost's field of view, just darkness and the blazing fury of distant suns as the Ghost tumbles through empty space. Hours of this before, with a wash of power, a huge convoy of ships drops into reality from warp. A convoy of Guardian craft, hundreds strong. Ships of all sizes and shapes can be seen, from venerable craft that have been salvaged from the Golden Age through to City designs to vessels that have yet to emerge from the Shipwright's hangars. The ships are battle-scarred. Many are barely spaceworthy. As warp drives wind down several seem to lose power and begin to drift. Some of the largest craft bear imagery familiar to frequent visitors to the tower: Dead Orbit symbols, the simple icon of the Vanguard. The New Monarchy and Future War Cult as well, though fewer examples can be seen. Others bears symbols never seen in the Tower to date. Every single ship, from the largest cruiser to the smallest personal craft, carries shards of stone, remnants of the City and the Tower. Banners too, tattered and worn from entering and leaving warp. The fleet is only visible for a few breaths, less than a minute. Then, with a massive flash of light, the fleet jumps on. The craft that have lost power are left behind, spinning and whirling away from the etheric wake of their powered fellows. The Ghost spins on, and soon enough only stars fill its field of view until the fragment ends. Remember the exo strangers words in the first venus mission? Not "Little Light" or "I havent even got time to explain..." The lines she says before she teleports "Too late, how many? Turn off the engines and DONT let them find you" (or something similar) She also says earlier "i was not born in the light" and her gun has parts that dont exist yet now, i propose she comes from this future, that SOMETHING (most likely the vex) destroyed the city and maybe took or desrtoyed the traveler. Now if this is true, there would be no new guardians and they most likely died covering these ships escapes but something tells me that whatever destroyed the city is chasing them. (they kept teleporting) and the stranger says "too late, how many?" this leads me too believe she is from this timeline, trained to kill because there are no new guardians. if the vex did destroy the city this also explains her hatred of them (when she crushes the vex beneath her feet) What do you think? Feel free to add to the evidence or argue against it (100 votes)

    • She says "Kill the engines" but it's unclear as to whether she's talking about turning engines off or killing a Vex machine. Also, I would recommend that you read Ghost Fragment: Exo Stranger 2 if you haven't already. It has some really cool information about the Stranger.

      • If you read into some of the HoW grimoire and look ingame (particularly the Doom of Chelchis description: "Where is the Great Machine?! Where is the Great Machine?!) and how in the grimoire of HoW 'story' that they allude to Two things, 1: The Traveler was once allied with the Fallen under the name 'The Great Machine' and 2: The House of Kings are hellbent on reclaiming the Great Machine, and almost have twice, in the Taken King Grimoire it seems Variks has a change of heart so to speak, I feel a predictable betrayal in the story some time in the future, the Vex haven't even alluded to attacking the city in grimoire or game, the Cabal might've with the 'Second Fleet' (Skyburners) from Phobos but they got rekt, and the Hive have seeded Earth but I guess the impenetrable testicle force field prevents seeders in the city? Idk. FOOD FOR THOUGHT
