Disconnecting from Xbox Live

I have a wireless connection

I have a wired connection

Does anyone know the solution to this problem. It started a week after TTK was dropped and I have no idea why. Recently I have been getting the infamous caterpillar error code and/or disconnecting from Xbox Live. This is the only game that this happens with and it's frustrating cause I am devoted to the game. If you have a fix please comment. I have already tried re downloading Destiny & compatibility packs and clearing cache to no success. Hopefully this will getting fixed soon. Btw I use a Xbox 360 wired connection to Comcast router. (Edit) I don't know if you people have found this post, but this got all my problems fixed and it has been working since 9/30/15. This is what has been happening to me, also using comcast and xbox 360. Except mine disconnects every 5 minutes. We might have different problems, but either way this must be a problem with Destiny. I think that TTK may have brought back a glitch from launch that Xbox had a lot of problems connecting, which they fixed. So I am hoping they can fix this as well. Best of luck! P.S. My connection works with every other game except for Destiny, meaning it probably is Destiny

      • Hi Senpai.....I was having this issue as well. I contacted my ISP and told them what was happening. When this happens to me it's always between 1&4am. They (isp) told me that they usually push software updates during those times. They did make an adjustment to my account after I told them that I play console games on a regular basis. After that conversation (2months ago) it's only happened 1x I'm on 360 as well. Maybe we should all get together and see who get s disconnected first lol

        • I can't remember totally. But, I remember reading in a post that Comcast routers are notorious for causing problems.

        • This is almost EXACTLY what is happening to me. I also have Xbox 360, and fastest Comcast cable internet (though, I did not use the Comcast router, as it caused me constant disconnects). I use a Netgear C3700, and for about 7 months (until last week), I played nearly every night (2-4 hours) and was disconnected about 2 times total (over a total of about 500 hours of gameplay). Took forever to download the 2.0 patch, but played it for 6 days before TTK and had no problems. TTK drops, and everything seems fine, for 2 days. Then, all of a sudden, I get constant Catepillar errors and disconnect from Xbox Live (mostly when trying to play coop on strikes or during crucible, but also sometimes just when in the tower). Roughly, every 20-30 minutes. Last night, for the very first time, I manually did some port forwarding, and applied all the codes recommended by Xbox for destiny. After letting it set, I loaded up an hour later. Got about 50 minutes of solo gaming, then got a "disconnected from Xbox Live" error (I did get two crucible matches in and one strike--but was dropped into a game at the final boss, not from the start). Reloaded and played another 50 minutes before trying another strike... got kicked (disconnect from Xbox Live) 15 seconds after landing. I don't know what could have possibly happened on my end over the last 6-7 days. I had NO problems with my current set up for 7-8 months after upgrading from DSL to cable internet) but now just can't play this game. So, I feel you Senpai... hope we can find some solutions to help us both. Good luck, and reply here if you ever find a solution.

          • Same here. I've been getting booted from Xbox live about every 30 to 45 minutes. My internet is not the problem.
