so what happened? did they just cliff hanger it and it was all a dream?

They spent most of the season finding various ways to kill them, then suddenly found out that killing the leader would kill the rest. So they stormed the guy's building and cut his head off. Then Dean got sent to purgatory because plot and stuff.
