Honestly, I used to log into D2 every day. Some days I did hard stuff like master raids, GMs, etc.
Other days I logged in just to chill and do easier stuff while I hang out with people.
With the entire game's floor being raised up, it makes the easier stuff more tedious, and it makes it less chill.
Like, Bungie, no one's loading into Vanguard Ops looking for "a challenge". Especially considering that it's not a challenge. Things just hit a little harder. Strikes don't have wipe mechanics, and they're impossible to fail.
I'm so exhausted by how the game is now. Everything feels like running through sand. Sure I can do it, but it doesn't feel good, and I don't really want to.
Please consider changing some of this stuff back to what it was.

I've solo'd every dungeon multiple times, but it's just too hard now. Before the changes I could get to the WR boss, but it's just too much of a beating to try now.
-
& they wonder why they can't get younger/new players.
-
Not being able to over level is kind of what killed the game for me. At least when I want to chill in the game, I could grind bounties and get stuff out of doing so that would contribute to other parts of the game. But now that we're capped, I couldn't be bothered.

4 commentairesCan’t understand why they dug their heels into this one and not allow full over leveling

Gonna be honest. I may have disagreed with you in the past. I'm a little slow but moving past my slow to start an gain traction. Got bored with D2 an somewhere along playing other games.....I began to think more extensively about the game as a whole. Congrats.....took me a while but I agree with you.
-
More of a slow slog. Have you played the first game? Much faster paced.

2 commentairesI hardly touch the game anymore myself. I used to average 400 strikes a season which fell off once battlegrounds became a thing in the list. Battlegrounds is it's own discussion but strikes used to be so casual and a good timewaster. Idc if people did their bounties in there or wether they like longer strikes or the shorter ones. It's ruined for me and strikes was just an example of what ruined this game for me and my friends.
-
Couldn’t agree more. I like a challenge as much as the next person but most days, I just want to shoot aliens in the face and chill.

1 commentaireThankfully, at last Cat Quest III is about to launch this week. Fun might just be back on the menu!

1 commentaireYes PLZ. The -5 is terrible. Insensitive but I hope whomever thought this was a good idea is gone.

Regular content is completely fine to over level. This game is just down right not enoyable to play lately. Even someone the latest encounter designs where everything just spawns in a 360 all around you with little to no cover just feels bad

1 commentaireIt's funny they didn't learn from lightfall that most casual players didn't like this and still carried on... Then they wonder why the sales are down.

1 commentaireNot wrong Well nerf and the -5 were 2 of the worse things the final shape did

The fact that the higher-ups thought all this was a good idea tells you what's wrong with them.

-5 is not a big deal. Strikes, dungeons and raids on normal were being sped through so they added it to strikes as well to make it more “engaging”. However this was not the solution. Strikes need a reason for people to play and grind them and so do dungeons. They should look at that instead of making things “harder”.

3 commentairesModifié par Phantom139 : 8/6/2024 5:15:00 PMEnforced level deltas has been one of the biggest blunders Bungie has embarked on over the last two years. It's been another double-primary situation - A select few players like the changes, where as a much larger bulk of players do not. It's honestly a hard situation for Bungie - They revert, and sure a lot more of the casual audience would likely come back, but then sticking around is another story due to other game issues while the players who want the harder challenge get annoyed at the ease of the game. They do nothing, and the casual playerbase remains away from the game, with sharp player count declines after new content drops remain a thing. I've given some thought on this issue over the past few months (Getting some perspectives from other games), alongside the whole notion of power level in general across the game, and I think the best solution here would be a new system that fixes existing problems with power, while also giving both groups of players what they want. Here's what I have come up with as a proposed solution: * Remove pinnacle gear levels, only just a soft cap / hard cap progression of gear power. This power becomes the only factor for fireteam / account power (The below bonus power no longer applies to either) * Add a new "bonus power" section, "Pinnacle Level" which progresses by completing pinnacle activities (You earn progression to this when you would originally earn a pinnacle drop). * Pinnacle Level caps at +25, only resets when the hard cap is raised. I would tune the first 10 levels of this to be quick (Akin to how quick most players reach the current pinnacle cap), then have the remaining 15 be a much longer term aspirational pursuit. * Retune artifact bonus power to be slower due to the new additional bonus power. * Negative power (Being under) will remain the same in activity scaling, retune over power to be logarithmic (Most gains in being over felt for the first few points, with a rapid change to diminishing returns after). * Remove "Maximum Effective Power" in all activities that did not have it prior to Lightfall (Only Legend Campaign, GM Nightfalls, and Contest Raids retain it). * Allow players to toggle off/on their bonus power. This feature can only be done outside of activities. This is what I feel would solve the most problems and please the most players. People who want the challenge can turn off their bonus power and retain the current -15, -20, etc. feel as they so please, and this can then extend to the rest of the game. For players who want a more casual experience, they can toggle on their bonus power and then get to have a more relaxed experience in the game. You can then make triumphs for doing full team no bonus power runs, etc. to retain the "hard challenges", while also letting players who just want to let loose and have fun enjoy that. This system would also address the long-standing problem of pinnacle RNG drops being repetitive, because now pinnacle levels would just be gained by playing pinnacle activities.

23 commentairesThey should've never gottan rid of bot walk difficulty. Just lower the rewards and let people turn their brain off if they want. Seems fair.

That change of minus power to basically everything that isn't a tier 2 nightfall and such as well as power disabled in patrols and up was by far one of their worst decisions. If players truely wanted it, they could have just put a seperate difficulty option that makes minus power and such a toggle. Instead, they make the game worse like what people like Salt wanted. His responce to players asking him why he doesn't do white/blue rarity only raid runs anymore is that the game is too hard for that. Looks like your wish game true Salt. A true monkey's paw moment.

4 commentairesThey've killed almost all my motivation to play. I used to play every day, but now I log in for maybe 2 hours on reset... if that. No one wants to do SE because it is annoying to teach. Verity is the worst encounter we've ever had. Solstice is awful. Absolutely awful. It used to be slightly enjoyable, but they found a way to ruin it.

1 commentaireI find it funny how backwards their logic is. People want higher ceiling and they raise the floor, satisfying neither
-
difficulty changes to me are as bad if not worse than sunsetting. almost the entire game is unplayable.
-
Pretty sure they changed the -5 awhile ago, from my understanding it’s about +10 for outgoing damage and +15 for incoming damage, don’t quote me exactly but I know it’s been changed.
-
Yea I wanted to solo warlords can just about get to last boss then it’s hell!
-
20 commentairesI really don’t see why the lowest difficulty activities should be less accessible. ie playlist strikes
-
13 commentairesThey should’ve just taken Salt & Datto’s PC’s away, given them consoles, emptied their vaults and characters, and only allowed them access to blue gear. THEN they could prove what amazing gamers they are. You know, like Esoterikk, soloing OG GM’s with blue gear. Instead… Sony’s in charge.

5 commentairesI used to love doing the strike playlist because it made me feel like "D1 become legend" in a game that has forgotten what it started out to be. The new floor isn't hard like you said it's just more annoying if anything. It's been a perpetual cycle for me this season from not playing it for a couple of weeks and forgetting the change, then being quickly reminded why I haven't played it.
