Destiny’s problems began way back when…during the ‘in house’ power struggle between the creative few and the growing force of bean counters and their supporters.
The bean counter forces won…the creative few were usurped…Destiny’s destiny was rewritten and repackaged - enter the scarab lord et al…
Then came the next hammer blow - the Sunset debacle…and all that followed…and here we are!
The bloated few that ruled the roost made one continuous blunder after another. Investors threw many millions / billions at BHQ…when what was really necessary was effective due diligence.
Activision did their due diligence and bounced.
That left the foxes run the henhouse.
And here we are!
Along the way, no doubt there were heroic efforts by some worker bees and the odd drone, to try and correct Destiny’s course - but, like any corporate entity, the C-suite quickly dispatched HR and Legal (NDAs to the max) to quell any such ‘uprising’ within the ranks.
Meanwhile, Pete fiddled while Destiny burned…
The Scarab Lord and his sidekick, like good little rats, abandoned ship with a fistful of loot. The damage they inflicted on Destiny should never be forgotten.
Enter Sony…
What happens next is anyone’s guess. Only Sony know the extent of the damage to Destiny…or what plans they might have going forward. Already, we’re seeing some movement in this area…with more robust changes yet to come, no doubt, as we all ponder Destiny’s fate…
Whatever happens, the community of loyal and lapsed Guardians are still around…waiting, and hoping, that Sony will put things right - even if it takes a bit of time…all they (Guardians) ever wanted was a safe pair of hands at the wheel to steer Destiny to become what we all knew it has the potential to be…one of the truly G.O.A.T. games of all time.
D3 - build it right and Guardians will come. 👈

The biggest question for me is what happens to the money for those who were vested in the company from Sony buyout? Does it stay in the pool for them to use on retaining jobs or dealer's choice or does it make a bigger share for those who are left? Regardless, I am currently not playing Destiny and might not come back. Time will tell.
