All the posts about difficulty show that Bungie either didn't consider all of their players when making a major change to the game or just plain didn't care.
I don't know which one is worse, but there was definitely a way to make both sides of the "difficulty" debate happy, and Bungie didn't choose that option and that makes them poor game developers.
Bungie either thought, "we will lose players over this and we're fine with that", or "we have them hooked, they'll just deal with it".

Oh bungie don't care about the casual player anymore they prefer to keep the streamers happy so they get free press and it needs to change otherwise the casual player will stop playing and they will lose money on future updates and dlc or even other games

If you check Steam Charts and Destiny Tracker, the overall player numbers don't seem to be affected that much though. The player numbers for both PvE and PvP hang around 1mil, and for a season in progress, it's usually around 1-1.5mil.
-
I vote the latter one. Seems like that’s the logical conclusion, given all the bs we’ve had to endure for years.

All they show me is that people need to do a little research on how to make an effective build. I couldn't care less if they reduce the Neptune patrol difficulty but if you feel it it just tooooo hard in its current state.....you must just have no fragments or mods selected or something. Light 3.0 and mods made us more powerful than ever. Some primary ammo weapons need some buffs in PvE but you're not really intended to just sit there shoot everything. You have abilities and perks and mods that feed back into each other and synergize with each other and weapon/artifact perks and mods. You have supers to provide different effects and give your team orbs to get theirs back up faster. Learn how to build your class. Learn the gameplay loop for that build. Find out what weapons are optimal in the current sandbox and use those. Stop holding your super for the perfect moment. You dont have to have perfect triple 100 stat artifice armor and god roll weapons/exotic armor to have an extremely effective build. If you don't want to have to do any of that..then Destiny left you behind a long time ago. They have been leaning harder into the RPGish build crafting aspect for a couple years now. Sorry if you wanted a guns only game but this aint it.
-
Not to sound like a a$$ but they did just overhaul the mod system as well….
-
You’re absolutely right… Destiny has become an elitist game, where only those who have all the mods, guns and gear can have fun. There’s no place for new players, old players, casual players or anyone who hasn’t devoted their life to a meaningless video game.

Power caps make them more tedious regardless of build or not. It’s so -blam!- tedious I barely have the desire to play any actual end game content because I’m so burnt out slogging through everything else.

I really dont watch any content creators aside from maybe checking out a build video which i mostly just skip to the screen I can see the loadout. So no I'm not repeating anything lol. You sound angry. If a game makes you this angry and pissy might be time to step away.

You miss the point entirely, it's not about the build when I can't even do enough damage to keep orbs going early on in a fight, it just makes me not want to play when I can't even kill a bullet sponge (every enemy now) using a rickackis/Datto void titan (my main). I don't feel challenged, I feel like my time is being intentionally throttled and wasted for scraps of void meaningless loot I'll probably dismantle anyway, games should be fun with a separate challenge mode/play through for difficulty.
-
Right. I just don't know what they were thinking. It was a really stupid move.
-
The stupid move was buying the game.
-
Modifié par Keythe : 3/26/2023 4:41:13 PMThat's the thing. There seems to be only 2 choices. They were either: - dumb - don't want people with lower difficulty thresholds to have fun or play. Which is worse? I honestly don't know. lol It sounds like an insult to call them dumb, but that *seems* like the better of the two possibilities.
Bungie either thought, "we will lose players over this and we're fine with that", or "we have them hooked, they'll just deal with it".
For years now that is exactly how I've been believing the studio thinks about it all. The patterns have been there for a while now. It fits so well it is incredibly hard to not see it that way. And it's probably so much effort required to convince us otherwise they won't even bother. Because it's a very steep climb.
-
Other games get around this by have self elective difficulty and world tiers. Where you can elect to make the game harder for yourself and in return get more currency and higher reward drop chances. Bungie would just have to tweak it to avoid abuse.
-
Its only this weird forum that has this echo chamber of a forum of not knowing how to put a build together and complaining about difficulty lol.
-
Modifié par Toots238857 : 3/28/2023 2:52:46 PMWhy should I have to put a "build" together, for something like a "HVT" on Neptune? Lol Just to watch it get away, because it's now become a bullet sponge for the sake of "creating content"? You can't be serious. You elitist are something else! You don't want to face people in the "flawless" pools in Trials all the time, but want the game to be harder for everyone else?
-
Well you can either spend 1 minute putting on some mods and selecting some fragments or I don’t know I guess that Hvt is going to get away from you.
-
You ever think that building shouldn't be necessary if it isn't end game? Or are you just attempting to gate keep ?
-
Sounds like the latter to me.
-
Modifié par WifeAggro_AFK : 3/27/2023 11:55:52 AMIt’s an action rpg/MMO lite so yes- build crafting is necessary as content difficulty ramps up. You can complete whatever activities you want without build crafting but you might be a little less efficient or struggle a bit. Just don’t come complaining about it when the solution to the issue is right in front of you. Players are given the tools to make their guardians even more powerful before (minus a few specific builds that exotic nerfed)
-
Well, Buttercup, sounds like they don't agree with you. Get a life fanboy. No one cares what you think. Nor did they ask your opinion.

Apparently you can't read.
