Are players forced to score 100k on the weekly story mission?
Are players forced to complete dungeons that award pinnacles?
Are players forced to play crucible and gambit matches?
You can play how you want.
If you want certain rewards then simply do what is required to get what you want.
Every powerful and pinnacle reward has a requirement that's clearly stated.
You say it doesn't make sense yet this season is focused on those 3 subclasses.

By restricting players to having to use matching subclasses/elements in order to make progress for certain rewards like pinnacles, it only forces players’ loadouts and playstyle and serves no other purpose unless otherwise stated. There would be some sense if we were talking about burns/surges and Nightfalls or the like, but that’d be it. It does not make sense. If Bungie needed data to better tune classes then they could just look at what is being used more and determine what is over and underperforming. There is no justification otherwise in manipulating how players play the game like this. You say the season is focused on these three subclasses, but the only class that even remotely has any focus is Strand. Nobody benefits from only playing Strand or Void when the only genuine requirement for Iron Banner Pinnacles is completing matches.

Void and solar are the other subclasses being focused on this season. Next season it will likely be arc and stasis as the other 2 that ate focused on. Yes it's only focused on those three in terms of surges for activities and seasonal mods. I have barely touched strand because of the insanity builds you can make with void solar now. Actually everyone benefits from using the surges and matching weapons and subclasses. It's why contest modifier is on so many activities

Your argument doesn't address the "How" when someone goes into a weekly story mission they can get 100k easy. All they have to do is play and by the end the points are there. Same goes for Nightfalls and such. The "How" isn't restricted. Yet when you go into Iron Banner if you want the Pinnacle rewards you are restricted to using 3 out of the 5 subclasses. Also, it's PvP. You just go in and shoot other players...that's it...so why restrict players from playing HOW they want if they want to get the rewards? Lastly, your defense doesn't address the clear contradiction of Bungie's design philosophy when they state that we get the freedom to play "how" we want.

I didn't argue or defend anything. I actually answered a question you posed in which you now asking again. Buts it's clear why you would say such things considering your OP is due to your own ignorance that you now have more options in terms of what subclass to use for iron banner pinnacles and lack of attention to what's required to get the pinnacles you want.
