I don't think Bungie wholly listens to streamers but they definitely do base some changes or additions to the game around them, anyone that says otherwise is coping. Remember when Bungie specifically mentioned that GMs needed to be "watchable"? Remember when Salt mentioned that Div needed a nerf only for Bungie to conveniently say they will be nerfing it despite it not "being an issue" and it was all just a matter of coincidence that Salt mentioned that before they made their announcement. Streamers aren't worth listening to as usually their opinion is of how they can change the game so they can make more money from it rather than what makes the game more fun. Just look at the recent raging about RoN being "too easy" on day one/two, and how it should be harder because the top elite streamers didn't get worlds first or their placements were bad. Lets not forget that raid trailers now are all about streamers and the oh so EPiC rAiD RaCe rather than the actual raid itself.

 • Our content creators were chosen by our own community. They are Destiny players just like you and me, that have been elevated by the community. They are each different just like us. They don’t share many of the same views. The reason a company like Bungie may go to them for their perspective, is because those content creators act as lightning rods, or funnel points for community feedback. Have you seen how abysmal these forums are? You can scroll for days without seeing a single well intentioned piece of feedback. Even then, Bungie have all of their own play data from the live game, where they get a very clear look at how things are working, where they fall short and what isn’t performing as intended. This notion that somehow an elite shadow class of streamers have taken over Bungie and are controlling thousands of developers is just ardent trash without any basis in reality. The only reason Bungie even contacts content creators, is to get our feedback. Regardless of who’s feedback they are taking, ultimately it is Bungie that decides changes and it is Bungie who should be blamed. Not our fellow guardians.

 •
Our content creators were chosen by our own community. They are Destiny players just like you and me, that have been elevated by the community.
And due to this their perspective of the game has changed from just a player to a professional, they seek the game to be as profitable to them as possible. They still do think about what should change as a player themselves but I hardly doubt they'd express such a change if it came at the cost of their career. Its a problem created by the whole streamer culture in general, people making money off playing games tend to be more lenient or less willing to express opinions about a game if it comes at the cost of their career, see quite a few game reviewers who are genuinely lenient on games because they don't want to lose their connections/free games or early access.
Have you seen how abysmal these forums are? You can scroll for days without seeing a single well intentioned piece of feedback.
Most of the well constructed feedback is usually buried under a lot of garbage I agree. Though Bungie haven't really done a good job addressing feedback as there has been numerous suggestions and feedback on the forums for changes with much detail in them and its usually just ignored because and I'm sorry to say this Bungie thinks "they know best" in almost every scenario. See most of the changes with Lightfall that no-one asked for and how poorly implemented they were like Guardian ranks and commendations.
The only reason Bungie even contacts content creators, is to get our feedback.
There are game companies that have collected feedback directly from the players without some middle man that has a bias towards the game being profitable to them. Apparently surveys and general questions are alien to Bungie.
Regardless of who’s feedback they are taking, ultimately it is Bungie that decides changes and it is Bungie who should be blamed. Not our fellow guardians.
I agree, Bungie is the one that should be blamed for not listening to their actual playerbase. Bungie has such a hard on for streamers its genuinely sad.
