Since Bungie buffed The Fundamentals trait to give stat increases based on the selected damage type, Hard Light being Void by default is an active detriment to gameplay in PvP.
If the catalyst is unlocked, Hard Light has both 100 stability and 100 aim assist, meaning the Void stat boosts are useless for Hard Light. The player then has to switch after every death to an element that actually increases their stats. Please make Hard Light Arc (preferable, as solar is one swap away) or Solar (not preferable, as arc is 2 swaps away) by default so that this paint point is remedied, even if only partially.

It was supposed to be Arc in D1, has obvious from the blue liquid in the glass So make Arc the default -
You literally press a button for two seconds. It’s not a detriment lol. Just Press The Button
-
In D1 you had to change the element in the gun menu... people are now complaining about holding down a button for 2 secs.
-
I think you should be able to set its default in the inventory menu. It would be nice to set the default going into an activity.
-
I don’t know if it’s possible or practical even, but if it could be done, it should do all three damages at the same time (no switching) and have built in disruption break and adaptive munitions. And a skin where the size of the optic is smaller (seriously it’s the only thing holding it back imo)
-
Posts like these, where having to hold a button down is considered a problem, is why Bungie doesn’t bother reading the forums.
-
Oh no you have to push a button, WOE is me!!!!!
-
Holy crap there is complaining, then there’s whatever this post is. It literally takes 2 second to switch. It should stay on the element you died with though if you do die

Or have it be what your subclass is at spawn
-
This is a silly request
-
Just switch dude. But I'd say the weapon should remember your last setting each respawn until the session ends.
-
It should do what the Susano fusion rifle did in D1 and make it match your subclass and then you switch it off from there or just choose the element to start with like how you can choose the rpm for Suros Regime or Queens Breaker…with that being said holding the reload button should make Suros and Queens change.
-
all fundamental weapons should allow you to select a starting element
-
It should let you choose your "starting" element the same way weapons let you choose perks
-
Of all the busted crap in this game, this is what you come here to complain about? Amateurs!
-
Seriously? Who cares?
-
I think it needs updating completely.. void for oversheild, arc for jolt, solar for scorch and stasis for chill.. void clearly needs a rework as the OP points out, it shouldn't be left as is, it should be changed.. update it

OG D1 Hard Light was low key arc, so yeah should default to arc. Technically it was "kinetic" but had an arc appearance to the projectiles.
-
I’d love to select the element all of those weapons start on - with the new stat changes, I’m usually switching to a different element, but that takes unnecessary time.
-
Hardlight implies the existence of soft light. Softlight when, bugnie?
-
If I remember correctly, you used to have to open Hardlight's perks screen and manually set the element type until Bungie changed it to long press of reload. If they brought back the previous way of switching the elements which left it selected even after death (I believe), and left on the fly switching on long press, that would solve the issue.
-
Hard light was Arc in D1 originally, so it would make sense, and the other changes would be good too.

Modifié par BrandishedChaos : 1/30/2023 4:17:35 PMI like this idea and I'll propose an addition, and/or alternative. I prefer it be an addition, but might be considered op. Each element could use a verb. Each shot could have 5%~10% chance to proc a verb based on element. Void - Volatile, Arc - Jolt, and Solar - Scorch.
