Ah yes, as we all know the best way to deal with bigotry is to pretend the thing the bigots hate doesn't exist so they never have to get their feelings hurt.
Grow up.
Bungie having a gay couple in their story is not painting a target on your back.
All media is not going to cater to your expectations of what LGBTQ+ relationships look like.
There is no way to win with haters, if a character is LGBTQ+ and you tell them at the start its pandering and if you don't tell them in the first sentence they assume its a straight character and claim you are changing things later.

Saint and Osiris are heroes who happen to be gay. Each has a long list of ridiculous achievements, a personality, and well defined morals and motives. They aren't just there to tick a box; they're fleshed out characters who -blam!- is -blam!-. This is how gay characters should be; characters who are important to the story that happen to be gay; in the kind of story beat where the hero returns to their stricken/long-lost/recovering/whatever loved one, that loved one happens to be the same gender as the hero. THey aren't insulting tropes or token characters. What would be insulting is if their only defining features as characters was their -blam!-. To make them abundantly clear as only being in the story because there needed to be a gay person around, along with the token minority and the token female. A lazily written bare minimum to satisfy some quota somewhere on the recommendation of a PR intern. This is also an online forum to a multiplayer game, where we all choose our avatars and aliases. The only person 'painting a target' on OP's back is OP. Bungie choosing to represent LGBTQ people in their game may rile up the bigots, but none of said bigots would have gone after OP had they not outed themselves. And frankly, it's quite egotistical of OP to spend most of their post speaking in the plural, as if they speak for all LGBTQ people, and asking Bungie to [b]not[/b] represent such individuals. The only way bigotry will decrease is by refusing to hide what they irrationally hate, and refusing to allow them to express that hate.

if im being honest it has kinda been woke pandering think about it every post for mens health has been locked by ninjas in less then 6 hours of their creation but having lgbt in the title has exempted a post and its still going strong then theres the fact we get nothing but blm suport/pride and lgbt pride/ suport notifications in game for like a year or two now i honestly dont care about it but what buggs me is the cherry picking they do and well not to put a hat on a hat here buuut if u gather those cherries they paint a rather specific picture i just want all of them removed from the game idc if its pride month or prostate cancer awareness month i play games to drop out of reality for a bit not have it cherrypicked then thrown at me when im playing

The supposed “men’s health advocating” was only being done in direct opposition to trans rights statements and were full of anti trans conversations and dog whistles. That’s why they got taken down. But of course it’s obvious why you choose to ignore that.

No you don't understand they're not against trans people, they just conveniently want to discuss men's health in every thread involving a trans person! The fact that they actively advocate for any attention to be pulled away from trans people is just a mere coincidence. Definitely not a dog whistle. At all. They'd never do that.
