Target on your back... nah. More like a target on Bungie's back and the characters' backs. I don't give a crap if you are gay, live your life, especially if you're in America. But, and this will sound somewhat -blam!-, if the only romances portrayed in a game are primarily gay ones, it makes it challenging for me as a straight person to get behind those stories. Sorry, it just doesn’t make sense and the romance doesn’t seem impactful. To be fair though, this is further compounded by the crappiest season-ending ever.
Hopefully, I don't get virtually shot for this, and hopefully, my point gets across.

I believe you described it perfectly well. Imho. In the honourable attempt to increase awareness and acceptance for a statistical minority they (Bungie) leave behind the non woke statistical majority by instrumentalizing both their events and game narratives. It feels a bit lopsided. But bottom line I don't really care about all this gender spam personally. I just feel deadened by the constant (in my opinion artificial) amplification. Take care. All of you!

One thing worth remembering, is that guardians are undead. They are unable to procreate, from a narrative standpoint, if mating was no longer possible, there would be substantially more same -blam!- relationships. So, that part does actually make sense in universe.

Modifié par Kalyx triaD : 12/1/2022 7:06:43 AMI don't think -blam!- orientation is based on whether you could procreate or not. I suppose Exos could go either way (it's curious that they retain the capacity for romantic feelings however). Though it doesn't bother me, it's just interesting how many people turn out to be gay in this universe. So your point about it being a bit exploitative has merit.

My bad homie. I meant it doesn't make sense to me as a straight person, therefore the weight of the romance is lost on me. You are correct however, in canon it would probably make sense for a spike in -blam!- relations.
