I think solstice is doing a number of things right. Firstly, the armour is a worthwhile grind for all players except those who are already fully optimised. A guaranteed end game level stat farm isn’t a bad reward for a free event. The weapons are also unique if not a tad underwhelming. However, not all is good. The grind is too much. If the gear is aimed at mid level players trying the upgrade, they likely do not have the time to get the armour if they aren’t already playing the game for hours every day. All events take the same formula of grinding activities we usually do and then banking currency in the event. SRL was mainly just playing SRL. The loot was average but the event was totally different to everything else in game and fun to do. You just participated in the event for the fun of it. I would like to see more events that only take place in a unique event - for the record, I would like SRL back for guardian games. Seems fitting. Bugs. Rift and Solstice are 2 major playlist additions this season and they often cannot be completed. Currently it’s very difficult to progress the quest on a second character and multiple activities are not rewarding the currencies they need to. The game seems more and more unstable and I thought sunsetting was meant to be a counter to this? I know it must be difficult be taken stability and bugs really need to be minimised before releases. Just one guardians feedback on the event. As far as D2 events go, I’d give it a C. B minus if there weren’t bugs.
