Edit: Top trending, hurray, but seriously, this the dumbest nerf bungie has EVER done and that’s saying something. The IKELOS smg is not even thought of when thinking of top smgs for PvP, and since Warmind cells got nerfed, everyone stopped using it in pve.
So what was the logic here? That its stats were a little inflated? GOOD. It was the ONLY aggressive frame smg that was worth using BECAUSE of that.
Not to mention its WAAAAAY harder to get a good roll on one since its part of the random loot pool, while multimach is an IB weapon and Shayuras is in the trials pool and has TWO variants.
Oh and Bungie? The low zoom on the IKELOS was one of its BEST FEATURES. The fact that you think that’s a bad thing just proves to me that you had no clue what you were thinking with this nerf.

Edit2: I guess I wasn’t clear enough, but this is a mainly PvP focused post about Ikelos.
Edit3: multiple people are saying the buff to zoom will offset the nerfs, I didn’t realize zoom increased stability and handling.

1 commentaireLoL the nerf to stability and handling won’t be felt with the right roll. Arrowhead Break/Tap the Trigger and dynamic sway. Then add the range buff of the Zoom change and it’s only going to get stronger.

If your on console yeah it’ll feel like a nerf but if you’re on pc it’ll be a pretty decent buff

You obviously don’t know how great the zoom stat is. Ikelos SMG is barely losing anything once you take the zoom buff into account. Pair that with a stellar perk set and warmind cells, and you realize that it’ll be just fine.

1 commentaireTbf it’s stats were a little wacky for it’s archetype. Even after the cells nerf, it stayed a powerhouse in the aggressive archetype. Hopefully this just means they will reel in other outliers like multimach and shayuras.

4 commentairesThey even went back and adjusted 140 handcannons that used to be 150s and gave them more stats, to include Spare Rations. Think about that...they love handcannons so much they are actually buffing sunset ones. No mention about fixing the flamethrower effect that's happening to several sunset guns like Trust and Bygones, but let's go ahead and buff some sunset 140 handcannon. SMH

Destiny 2 players are some of the whiniest gamers I’ve known. It’s an online, constantly updating, FPS RPG looter, the meta is going to change with buffs and nerfs, get over it. -

2 commentairesI'm more concerned about the 540 pulse nerf. Like you say, the ikelos SMG is pretty useless or easily replaced. I finally feel like 540 pulses have a decent place in PvE endgame (with the right roll), and now they start crying for a pvp nerf. They are outmatched in pvp by 720 autos already... Not to mention every exotic and 340 pulses. It's just Dmg floating a personal pvp agenda, like always. Notice every time they nerf a shotgun's range they create a new archetype that reaches that outlier range(Matador). I.e. we are nerfing 65 rpm range... Now go to the dungeon and get a buttload of this 70 rpm!

I have a feeling this is less about bringing it inline with other aggressive SMGs, and more about bringing it down so new and craftable SMGs do not need to be so powerful for people to use them instead if Ikelos. Because that’s what would happen. If no matter what Ikelos was still better, or we could craft it and make it too good, nobody would use any other aggressive still. Not unless the new one was made even better than Ikelos. In other words, power creep. Now, if there are no new or craftable aggressive frame SMGs, then this nerf makes no sense. As it would just ensure the death of aggressive frame SMGs.

First off, it’s not the only aggressive frame worth using. It is very good. But Borrowed Time and Extraordinary Rendition also exist. Second, if it WAS the only one worth using, then it definitely needed to be rolled back a little.

The stability and handling are really going to hurt. The Zoom can be offset with Seraph Rounds so range isn’t going to hurt too much. The stability was what made it good on console. If it’s that bad, it goes in the vault and I’ll just use Extraordinary Rendition (which everyone should pick up a decent PvE roll of anyway)
