Sunsetting was an good idea but it was only a good idea if there were enough new weapons to offset the sunset ones but it is clear that bungie can't keep up with new loot and has "reissue' items back into the loot pool. Sunsetting is a bad idea cause it devalues player's time investment just to throw those same exact items back in their faces. On top of devaluing a player's time investment it also makes certain activities whose items are sunset pointless to run in the first place. IMO i think bungie should just take sunsetting out of the game and give us our items back. It's unfortunate that this idea was a flop but the idea is just not working.

IMO sunsetting was always a bad idea. Imagine pushing a product with "play the way you want" and proceed to force us to use weapons they choose. That right there is pretty big contradiction. Then implement said bad idea (IMO) so horribly wrong that you make paid content and activities so obsolete and pointless that you have to reissue gear right after you sunset them. Loot pool is way too shallow now, there isn't really any vendor specific loot on older content. (Variks does have Europa weapons at least) but im getting Gambit weapons from every source possible, even got a Lonesome from Eva during the Dawning ffs. Killed an HVT Brigg on Europa and it dropped a legendary... pick it up and its a Gnawing Hunger! On Europa? A gambit weapon on Europa? Sunset 400 weapons and give us 21... what good was going to come out of this? In 3 weeks we will get more weapons but we are losing another 21 weapons from season of dawn. There is not enough loot to chase to keep me playing regularly.

I think Bungie wants us to take the blue pill.

It’s too late

Imagine wanting to use old raid weapons in the newest raid. Or, y'know, using any raid gear from old raids. They took away the ability to use old weapons in raids just because of the 1% melting bosses with Recluse and Mountaintop. I just wanna get a random-rolled Conspirator, or Ghost Primus, or Zenith, or some GoS stuff. But nah, you can use this new sniper with Hip-Fire Grip, Moving Target, and Drop Mag 🤡

No, sunsetting was never a good idea. Never.

#remove sunsetting

Sunsetting was not a good idea. It adds nothing. It improves nothing. It makes loot worthless.
-
I completely agree, make our old stuff useful again.

Sunset sunsetting

Completely Agree!! Bungie, you created some great assets--WE LIKE THEM. If Bungie wants players to use new assets, the onous is on BUNGIE to attract players to them. Get creative, Bungie. Don't diss the wonderful work you've already done. Sunsetting is coercion. The game should be about incentives.
-
Destiny has never respected the players time. It's designed like Facebook to deliberately waste as much of it as possible.
-
What? You didn't like deleting all your Beloveds and getting one copy of Adored? C'mon! /sarc
-
We want Sun setting gone Bungie plain and simple it's proper shite.
-
Bring back pinnacles your bringing back all other sunset crap
-
Sunsetting has single handedly improved destiny and is the reason I will play consistently now
-
It's happened, it's done....its here to stay. It's really easy.... take it or leave it. Coming on this forum and just complaining will do nothing 🤷♂️

U want me to go 🥺

“The last thing we wanted was for you to look at your favorite gun or helmet and decide that it had become obsolete...the time you invested in your stuff should be respected.”

FOMO = SUNSETTING 💯%

Yes, we should get our time investment back, remove sunsetting!
