I just want to take a moment to say as a new(ish) light payer the master working of armor is causing me some Frustration. As it stands i have 850(ish) hours invested in D2, as yet I have not earned a single ascendant shard. In all i have masterworked 1 piece of armor. The simple reason for this is lack of mats. If Ascendant shards are going to cost 100 cores each the amount of time to get those mats is unreasonable. The only reliable way to farm golfballs is through grandmaster nightfalls, a task that requires the highest of endgame gear. What's more you need all of that to be masterworked. As a single player there is no way for me to master work complete sets of armor ( without being Esoterik ) to further compound this the artmor that i have invested time into getting to level 9 is being sunset. All in all that's a massive kick in the golfball's. I get I need to grind. But how much grinding would you like me and others to do? To combat this i would suggest making daily bounties at the gunsmith give a x 5 reward for enhancement cores. This would give people the opportunity to earn shards on a regular basis. people currently don't engage with higher tier content because of this issue. It costs you nothing, and further helps with your plans to sunset armor if people can be rewarded for investing time into you IP
