A better option would be to design the game more intelligently so that your teammates are not your enemies.
All they would have to do is make it so fireteam kills and/or assists progressed bounties.

I'm not the one asking for solo options. I'm the guy that gets twice as many kills as both his blueberries put together in normal strikes but I'm still also tired of it being a toxic competition for kills.

I kill everything I can. Often red bars [i]first[/i], of course. But that wasn't the point. I was just saying that I usually "win" the kill competition. By a lot. But it's still a lame situation with the bounties.

I agree with you. Bounty system is counterproductive with playing the objective. They know this but opt to continue it, seeing it ultimately forces multiple passes in any activity.

A huge part of the reason people don't want to simply speedrun strikes with random teammates is because of bounties dude. Because the way it's set up right now, the main focus is having to fight over kills rather than enjoying the strike and being happy your teammates are participating.

Thats not the only reason, DUDE! lol Some people enjoy the challenge. Others just want to play with one single friend and not have a speed runner screwing things up. Just because its your reason doesn't mean its everyone's reason. I was in the process of making an edit above to be more clear if you want to read it. Solo, normal, playlist strikes are not challenging at all. You can already do solo ordeals and solo vanilla nightfalls if you want a challenge. Bounties are most people's reason for being unhappy with the way things are. And my original comment was talking about changing bounties to fix the problems with strikes instead of the other way around. So your "point" is kind of redundant.

Not really though. Changing bounties from kills to assists doesn't really fix the XP problem in the game. And regardless, not everyone enjoys using scouts and rockets... or whatever weapon you hate. I refuse to play the game Bungie's way so I usually don't do bounties.

Changes are coming with Beyond Light, we'll have to see how it is. I doubt bounties are going away though. And you can always skip the 15% of bounties you don't like. I rarely do the scout, sniper or rocket kill ones in strikes either.
