They need to buff rift first. No point in using rift based exotics when it takes a century to cast. Stag needs a rework too!

In addition to its current effects, add these effects for enemies that enter the rift: Solar: Burn damage over time. Arc: Electrified floor. Void: Continuously pushes enemies out of rift. Stasis: Freezes enemies.

Buff it. Rifts are supposed to be getting stronger with the new supers at play.

If we were to look for a buff instead of a rework, I'd suggest making the arc pulses periodic (once every few seconds) and increase the knockback (and maybe damage). A rework I'd go for would be something someone else suggested, periodic chain lightning from the rift (think Orb of Storms from Path of Exile). Kills would increase the fire rate of the Rift.

Rifts now fire chain lighting every second for the duration of the rift, can chain to 3 enemies. Increase rift casting speed. Or rift deals continuous dot (similar to walking to a titan barricade) when an enemy touches it. Increases rift cast speed.

I think it should fire 6 pre-nerf Gjallahorn rockets every 5 seconds. Each Wolfpack round should then leave a Dragon's Breath solar nade effect. Then when it expires, it should blast a 'Defender' style Smart Bomb, blowing up everything on the map.

I like it the way it is. It can launch pikes too, across the map.

I saw some one mention in another post possibly make it do a pulse grenade effect according to the subclass and stasis would freeze opponents. I'd change it so it chains lightning to any enemies nearby similar to dune marchers.

Make it blind enemies (PvE & PvP) that enter the rift. The blind effect should last for at least 2 seconds after the enemy left the rift.

(Very slight 1 second cooldown on SAM Turret) Every projectile that is struck down will grant ability energy to anyone standing inside of the Rift. • While VoR is equipped the Empowering Rift will have a stationary storm cloud turret hovering above. This storm cloud will strike any nearby enemy with a Lighting Strike. Every kill or chain of lightning will grant ability energy to anyone standing inside the Rift.

The shockwave needs to do more damage and knock-back. Also Instead of an Arc shockwave, it should be based on the subclass you have equipped, and make it also increase the blast radius and damage whenever you slam the sword of Well of Radiance into the ground.

They need to rework it. Give it the ability to grant Arc Damage and Arc-chaining capabilities to your Kinetic Weapon while standing in a Rift. OR Allow it to generate a large Arc field around your Rift, similar to the AoE attack Fikrul, the Fanatic, uses in the Hollowed Lair Strike. That's really the only way I can see this Exotic ever being useful. It sucks in its current state, even with that buff Bungie gave it a while back.

It already is pretty good. It gives damage resistance and an aoe attack on your rift and gives about 3x faster recharge when surrounded. If it made rift cast faster it would be better.

What about making it so that casting a rift generates an electric field around the rift... allies shooting through the field have a riskrunner-esque damage chain on enemies. Thoughts?

I agree it should give an electrical barrier around the rift. This would make the exotic so much more valuable and fun to use!
