I just watched My Name is BYF’s video about Savathun’s other song. Excellent video, by the way. I never realized the song sung by Shaxx in the Devils Ruin quest was the same as the song played on the opening D2 menu. Anyway, with Savathun’s viral song having some sort of hold on Eris, Shaxx, Saint, even us, can we trust what we are hearing from Eris as she conveys the messages from the Darkness? It seems to me if Savathun is attempting to keep us from communing with the Darkness then scrambling the message itself would be a effect option. Through the power of the song she could corrupt the message without Eris ever knowing it was happening. We, ourselfs, could be a puppet of Savathun song with us never knowing till it’s too late. Also, as a side note, I find it interesting that Savathun, being a Hive God and an agent of the Darkness, cannot seem to convince the pyramids from attempting contact with us in the first place. This makes me feel the Darkness itself is like an unstoppable force of nature. Whether Savathun is a major disciple of Darkness she has absolutely no sway over it, just as we cannot keep the sun from rising or setting.
