Un-Linking PSN from Bungie.net
I've recently tried to activate cross save - unfortunately I have an old Xbox account linked to my Bungie.net that I no longer have access to and cant verify. I'm considering making a new Bungie.net account to shift my PSN and Steam account over to - but I'm not 100% sure exactly where my character data for the game is stored anymore. If I remove my PSN account from my current Bungie.net account am I running the risk of losing my characters - or are they saved strictly to PSN account?
On a side note - if it doesn't affect my characters will it affect any of my metrics? Kills tracked - triumphs - etc?

3 commentairesDestiny and Destiny 2 game progress is stored on Bungie's servers attached to your platform account. So if you've been playing on a PSN account your game progress is tied to that account, wherever that account goes your game progress follows. So yes, you can move your accounts to different profiles with no risk of losing any Destiny or Destiny 2 game progress. The only thing you will lose are any emblem codes you redeemed on this profile. These would be emblem codes you got for purchasing items from the Bungie Store or donating to the Bungie Foundation. Those are the only items that appear in-game that are tied to a Bungie profile. If you've never redeemed an emblem code on bungie.net then you won't lose anything in game if you move your accounts to a different profile.
