If a vendor reset is too difficult why not try to create at least 1 new weapon for the main token vendors excluding the ritual weapon (rant).

Tl;dr: I would like for iron banner, strikes, general crucible and gambit to receive at least 1 new weapon besides the ritual one every season. Maybe it's too much to ask, but i haven't touched strikes, gambit and soon comp (as I'm almost to unbroken) because they feel pointless. I've had my fun playing destiny but I feel more compelled playing those activities if there is more proper incentive. If they cant do it then they cant, but if they can please do so. Rant: For the record I am not insulting bungie nor am I trying to I just feel like these activities are pointless. Crucible, besides for my own personal fun is pointless. Vanguard strikes and even to an extent nightfalls are pointless. Gambit is still sort of relevant because the prime weapons are all really good weapons but if you have the ones you want the way you want them...it will just be taking up space. Iron banner...yeah I'm not doing it anymore this season and likely not in the future either with the way its going. My point is...is that the game currently is incredibly lacking for these activities. The new gear they create for the new activities is sufficient enough, but the other main activities are not offering me anything. I have played d2 since its beta and have consistently been playing it this whole time. I'm tired of getting better devils #4673 or main ingredient #1765. I'm absolutely tired of getting the same unchanging crap every match, every day and every season. To me, the ritual weapons are not helping this problem either. They are nice weapons and I hope they keep making them, but the general loot pool for those activities has been exactly the same since forsaken and it's been over a year since then with not even a single new general loot pool weapon (maybe since black armory). Every 4 months cant we at least get 1 new weapon for crucible, vanguard and gambit activities besides the ritual weapons? I know they have to already try and do so much in the 4 month span they have but I'm finding it more and more difficult to keep playing those activities as time goes on and those are the main activities I like doing and messing around in. But can I even ask for this? They planned for a single new weapon, a bow, to drop in iron banner and it was bumped back till next season. It was announced at the start of season of dawn and it's not coming during dawn. Its not dropping next iron banner, not near the end, the literal next entire season. So for whatever reason, with around two months left iron banner will remain a worthless piece of crap for people who have exhausted the arsenal its had since before shadowkeep. There are still year 1 weapons like orimund's anvil from iron banner that dont have year 2 variants...but iron banner hasn't gotten a single new weapon since I believe black armory. And to be clear I'm not only playing this game because of gear. I do play it for fun and for other reasons as well. But I want fun to be rewarding as well. There's no memories to make dragging myself through these activities I have played since their release. There's no excitement I feel heading towards the next week, or week after or months. The hype I feel for each season has decreased season after season as it becomes more dull and lacking in passion driven content. I'm not going to simply drop this game because it's not supporting my opinions, but man does it feel like nothing really matters. Maybe this is a flaw with the seasonal model itself, maybe I've played too much destiny, something just doesn't feel right to me with how things are going. Thank you for reading if you did.   • While a vendor loot refresh I feel is not as valuable as people seem to claim, a [i]perk pool[/i] refresh I think would be valuable. It really feels like the loot tied to the ritual activities have fallen behind in terms of perk options. I mean this season they brought back Clown Cartridge from D1, but only for [armory]Line in the Sand[/armory]. History suggests that we won't see Clown Cartridge on weapons from the ritual activities which is unfortunate. I have no idea how perk pools work in relation to weapons. It just feels as a player who would like to find value in the rewards from Zavala, Shaxx, and Drifter, for those weapons to feel relevant and updated to current environments.

    • Its bad enough having to purge blues all the time but purples are honestly in the same category for me now. Weapon parts and shards. That's what I feel like I play for.

      • The only difficult part about it is getting Bungie to not be so lazy and cheap about it. I mean even with them being on their own for the last year now, they still have more than enough man power, not only to have maintained this game (which they failed and even increased its already high rate of decay) but also to have grown and brought it up to par with what D1 was by the end. There is no excuse for why this game has turned out so poorly other than because they were focused on trying to milk the community for every penny they could, like nearly every other game company has for the last 5-10 years (which has backfired and costed said companies more than they gained big picture as we're seeing this year).

      • i find it hard to believe them when they say things like vendor refreshes are difficult now i see eververse constantly being updated the word lazy is a better word to describe them nowadays

        • They won’t do it because they are too busy refreshing eververse for the season and the seasonal events like Dawning, Crimson Days, Festival of the Lost, Revalry, Solstice of Heros, etc. People always tell me it doesn’t take that much time to do that stuff. Well, consider what goes into those refreshes: 1) Shaders 2) Transmat effects 3) Legendary ships 4) Exotic Ships 5) Legendary weapon ornaments 6) exotic weapon ornaments 7) Ghost projections 8) Universal armor ornaments for each class 9) Exotic armor ornaments 10) Legendary emotes 11) Exotic emotes 12) Finishing move variations 13) Bundles 14) Boosters 15) Legendary sparrows 16) Exotic sparrows And then for each of those things, the following go into each: 1) Time 2) Ideas 3) Concepts 4) Designing 5) Developing 6) Play testing 7) Bug fixes 8) More testing

        • Yea they definitely need to go back to "Age of Triumph" style vendors, and D1 style factions also... It's beyond me why they ever removed it 🤔🤪 All year 1 weapons and armor need to be brought up to date and that will make the planetary vendors useful 😎👍 And activities like Escalation Protocol and The Blind Well need the loot pools and drop rates increased to make them more desirable again... EP is so fun but it's such an anti climax after ya kill the boss and get 3 shaders 🤣👍 Strike specific loot 🤔 I could go on I just hate how things get left behind, they give us 10 new things but 10 old things are made useless so there is still only 10 things... Fix all the old things before ya give us new (same) things i reckon 😎👍 I still love this beautiful mess of a bloody game but it could easily be made much more enjoyable and less of a chore 😎🤘

            I just wish the vendors behaved like they did in Rise of Iron. They sell all/almost all of their entire stock to specifically choose from, with the rolls changing each week; even if they costed more currency. Then you could still keep the random packages at a lower price by comparison, for people who don't want to wait and would rather try their luck at RNG. Instead of the current system, where every vendor besides the planetary ones(but are they even relevant at this point?) have their loot come [b][i]only[/i][/b] from RNG.

            • A vendor reset isn't too difficult, it's more work than any developer wants to put into a "games as a service" title. For people who don't know, Games as a Service means "Minimal investment in gameplay, Maximum investment in microtransactions". Glad I could clear that up for some people.

            • I want all the old guns to be relevant. Specifically the nightfall specific loot like DFA and the stabby auto rifle

            • But they did that with sundial, vex offensive and Eris. No one uses those weapons because old weapons are still relevant.

              @Bungie (if you’re listening) Just a quick suggestion Only give us weapons that we DON’T have in our Collections Then make it so that [i]Legendary Shards/glimmer[/i] material currency is reward for opening chests, along with a checklist of experimental Black Armoury Weapons from the Saboteurs etc & Curated rolls on Dreaming City/Moon/Tangled Shore Then we use this currency as means to go purchase random roll weaponry from our collections (no bloomin infusion cores/enhancement bolloxs) just simply using Glimmer/Legendary Shards RNG will be obviously in play But then it’s the players choice to buy wherever weapon they like from the collection...(deleting the weapon gives back the 50% of material) random rolling until they get the gun perks they desire (Then [b]old school D1 style[/b] ....off you go to fill the perk meters up to activate, with a skill system that encourages streaks of killing, singular precision, multi-kill precision etc !) This system allows for grind of materials to purchase the gun the player actually wants (Maybe 2 versions of the same weapon, specific roll for PvE & 1 PvP roll) Then adds a small weapon skill system & grind to actually fill the perks up It’s not a Perfected Suggestion ...but it could work

            • I think the memory requirements may be too large for console. If this was a pc exclusive game they could continue expanding the loot pool while keeping previous content relevant. When they add, something is always subtracted, it’s a bummer.

              • The funny thing is, it seems you think bungie only have the time in between each content drop to make the next bit of content and are always busy and rushed. The reality is, each season was finished before shadowkeep even launched and bungie are so bad a developer maintenance that they are constantly trying to fix things from each season they previously released because they are lazy and incompetent and don’t play test anything rigorously enough or have the ability to prevent the bugs we get and are arrogant enough even still to this day to blame people’s connections etc for a lot of the error codes that follow a content release even though people’s internet work perfect. Have seen this with streamers and experienced it myself when even with resetting everything, only thing that doesn’t work is destiny despite WiFi, Ethernet cable, and every device working normally but destiny not. Luckily this didn’t last more than few hours for me but I can see bungies inability to control their own coding.

              • I think each planet should get a ritual weapon and it is unlock each season through public events+lost sectors while that planet is the flashpoint. Each weapon could deal 25% bonus damage on that planet and some Y1 destinations already have planet specific weapons like the brey tech and prophetic which bungie could just add extra perks to and reuse.

              • If you play the game for fun and to be rewarded, why the hell does giving away loot in a vendor sound good? Like imagine just logging in and getting a god rolls weapon that should have taken actual time to get. Now what? Time to go do all those activities you still dont enjoy with a gun that kills .004 seconds faster than the one you got now? Is that really what keeping this game down?

                • while I think a good deal of the lack of content in the game is a lack of human resources focused on this game I don't think the lack of vendor refresh is in that area. I believe that is all part of the keep the game focused on eververse items. That was a year one issue I believe they have doubled down now that they need the eververse money more than ever. Not too much new and shiny allowed in the game outside of the cash store.

                • It's certainly lost it's luster. Thats for sure. I'm not sure what it is either. There are many activites in this game but they all feel so hollow. For me it has to do Armor 2.0. Before, when I pursued armor, it could give me random perks that I could use and show off. Now everytime I get new armor it has a 50-55 stat total with maybe 3 to 6 energy levels. I'm all for the universal ornaments but most of this loot is instantly deleted. As for weapons? I think adding one new weapon is too little a change. You remember that extra Gambit activity? The name escapes me at the moment but that was a good way to introduce loot.
