Now I think about it, Swords Of Ditto is a little like this.

  • Man, I loved Swords of Ditto before they gave up on their vision and completely changed the game. I really wish another game would come around and essentially recreate the original. In any case, if I remember SoD uses the “caverns” of Sundered, but not the smaller rooms within, and its entire map was procedurally generated, as opposed to Sundered’s hybrid system.

    I recently replayed it and it's still pretty fun to me. The timer is bumped up to 24 hours, sure, but there seems to be a heap of new cool stuff. Isn't the map consistent between saves, though? Its randomly generated, but it will remain the same from there on out through all of your characters, right?

They let you carry over loot from previous runs, added a character select with permanent XP gauges, and last I heard they even removed perma-death. I’m sure it’s still fun, but it’s just not really a Roguelike anymore. Carrying over loot is the big thing that killed it for me. [quote]Isn't the map consistent between saves, though? When I last played it I remembered the map being completely different every time.
