I hope you all will read and discus below, maybe this will get some traction and maybe Trials can someday get a chance, because considering the state of Destiny 2 at launch i do not think Trials of the Nine got a fair shake before being canned.

    • Back at it huh? I will be happy to embarass you again. Pvp players have essentially ruined this game. All your complaints and crying about several different weapons, exotics, the effects of masterwork armour, different subclasses... The list goes on and on, and now theres nothing fun left in this game, yall have cried and complained SO much that both pve content and pvp content has become bland and repetitive and the game is going down the toilet. And whats your answer to that? "BrInG bAcK tRiAlS" the ignorance is staggering.

        Trials should rewards Skins and nothing more. You should not give weapons that perform better to the better players as a reward beacause that makes the gap between new players and pro players bigger.... Sexy skins to armor and weapon is enough and you can apply them to whatever gun and armor you feel. On thing that I miss a lot from trials was to train with my friends during the week in order to be sharp for the weekend.... I REALLY MISS TRIALS.

            Take my bump moof. In light of recent posts lately. Ima have to back every pvp main or pvp player I see. Pve mains want pvp removed again. So it's time to actually rally up. Take my bump and support. And now all of a sudden I want trials back

              Trials promotes 3rd party paid services which violate the ToS. Preach all day... the game is better off without 3rd party paid services of any kind.

              • The article made sense... however trials being shut down is not about us the players. The real reason trials was canned was because it spawned a pay to win carry industry of services offering light house wins for money. You all know these services exist. This is why Trials is no more. It stands to reason that Bungie could not let this type of thing continue. Think of all the revenue these services generated that Bungie was not cashing in on. Now one could say; well what about streamers and content creators generating money for their product based off Destiny; well the trade off is free marketing and indirect ancillary services that promote the game further Bungies goals in a more wholesome way yadda, yadda, yadda. You cant stop these services, it like playing wack a mole. They popped up for trials Carrie's, and when that shut down they switched to offering services to everything under the sun doable in the game. Bungie can't shut down the whole game just to spite them so they removed the only thing offering a true competitive experience over the weekend that had everyone's heart racing.... Trials.

                    • All trials sucked period. Crucible should be separated from the main game. I'm soooooo sick of being forced into crucible because of a quest. I dont want to ever play crucible again, but I know I'll be forced into it because of a gun I want that's locked behind this garbage game mode

                        • The crazy thing is they know exactly what made Trials of the Nine fail where Trials of Osiris succeeded. Luke Smith said in his director's cut that ToO "wasn't as flawed as they had thought" and that they moved away from a winning formula, yet a few sentences later said "We don't believe bringing Trials back in its original format will make it popular again." It's mind boggling. They know exactly what made it successful, but refuse to do it.

                            Destiny 2 need not some specific but ANY fun PVP experience. You are asking for trials but in reality you want something you EXPECT trials will give. You all are pushing devs to do things that you really don’t need and after they done these things you are blaming them for not reaching expectations. There is one of publishers goal - to give players what they are asking for even if they asking for stupid shit. This is needed to have a good look in customers eyes but doesn’t make game any better. So Bungie has to do stupid shit because this community doesn’t trust to the devs while has no expertise by itself.

                                • Main point: Well you have the core of the problem identified. I think other players whom are passionate with PvP will agree with this for sure. Suggestion: [spoiler]The real "next step" here, is analyzing what tools Bungie even has at their disposal. Hard for us to even imagine, but I would be one to lean towards "not a lot to work with" at this rate. After that, you'll need to start thinking along this one question: [b][i]What ideas, that Bungie have presented, captured an (my own?) appeal, and what is the SIMPLEST way to implement this?[/i][/b] Then apply it to PvP. You've done the first half already, but could you follow up with just "one simple idea" that could change the appeal on PvP? Let's face it, Bungie can't do complex. But they can do simple though. Think of the description "Simple, but effective". It can apply here. Remember, we do need to place it upon ourselves, as a community, to submit feedback that resonates (and I don't mean a biased, positive feedback loop, I'm sure we all know they are trying. They just fall flat here and there) with what they have accessible. This will give the highest probability of them (Bungie) being able to actually use the feedback to it's fullest. Since hearing it, acknowledging it, and implementing it are completely separate things, and not all of it can be done at the same time.[/spoiler] Example idea: [spoiler]What if the season pass rank system was implemented in a similar fashion (free to all players) to Crucible, Vanguard, and Gambit? With the gear being themed to the mode? This being added on top of how things are, would this increase player engagement? Would this cause a set up for something else in the future? Would this be a nest test to run? Etc, etc.[/spoiler]

                                • The simplest solution, is to reward everything but weapons. The armor guarantee to drop 60 (+). If there are no guns, and the same chance as IB dropped gear...there won't be a high demand for people willing to pay for shaders and emblems. Of course they will always happen...it just won't be as mainstream. This also allows for them to keep the ritual weapons as is, so that Trials wouldn't be forced. The artifact 100% needs to be disabled, and honestly, rules and regulations need to be enabled. Similar to the D1 class specific exotics being banned during tournies.

                                  • Hit the nail right on the head. I think the entire pvp community needs to read this. As of right now it’s just people whining back and forth, but you put thought and construction into this. Not just “bring back trials waaa waa.” Trials legitimately added weapons that were only slightly stronger than most of the sandbox. The trials of the nine weapons were basically trash. There was no point. One thing I would like to add is that most of the issue sadly comes from the community. They can’t handle it because of paid carries and network manipulation. That’s also Bungie a fault for sticking with peer to peer matchmaking, but again, the PvP community is literally unstable and can’t handle this gamemode coming back right now. I seriously want someone at Bungie to see this because you put so many good points to the limelight. Nice work guardian.

                                    • Great post. I actually did enjoy d2 trials from playing with anyone just to grind out tokens up to meeting some great guys that took me to flawless a bunch of times. I just want trials to come back. Hope your post gets traction.

                                    • The problem with trials of the nine was trying to pull off a 1v4 / 2v4 scenario just really wasn't feasible. Even with today’s TTK and special weapons taking down 4 somewhat coordinated enemies is near impossible with just your weapons alone. For To9 to be good it just needs to be a copy pasted ToO loot system and game type, easy fix.

                                    • Great read! I have felt left out since the start of D2 because I mostly play PvP. I feel slapped in the face with Shadowkeep since there is no possible way to upgrade armor now by playing PvP. Just so disappointed Bungie would abandon the most hardcore of Destiny players!!!
