D2 players who did not purchase Foresaken have no access to Spider to purchase "enhancement" cores. Since the enhancement core economy applies to them as well, a necessary source of enhancement cores is unavailable until they also purchase the DLC.
This unequal treatment is classic pay-to-play. I can understand (but disagree) with your decision to include enhancement cores in infusion, but the Spider paywall is manipulative and inequitable to non-Forsaken players. Bungie must make Spider available to all players since the enhancement economy applies to all players.
I hope the dev team is listening.

That's reasonable, remove it from his location and just move it to tower to make it easier on all players to utilize the resource without all of the extra loading time. Simplify the system in an attempt to mediate all of the negative response over cores.

I can't speak for the pre-Forsaken economy as it is currently, but I got Forsaken around the end of October, and it seemed like I actually got MORE enhancement cores back then than I do now. How, you may ask? Banshee-44 and planetary vendors. Pre-Forsaken, these vendors dropped fully masterworked Y1 weapons fairly regularly. Sure, it might take 10-20 rank up packages to get 1 masterworked weapon, but at least you could get them consistently. I haven't got a single MW weapon from any of the vendors since. Not that I'm complaining, with all the random rolled weapons and armor out there the only Y1 stuff I EVER use are exotics, but I ended up with around 200 MW cores before I started CoO from a single source, and now that source is completely gone for me. You only get so many Spider bounties that reward cores per week, per character, and the price to buy cores doubles every time you get one, but you can get as many MW'd weapons as you want, as long as you have enough resources to dump into the vendors and don't have the DLC. Then again, it's been a while, so for all I know Bungie broke all that after I left the Red War behind.

It’s also hard as hell to get mod components if you didn’t buy the annual pass and can’t buy them from ada.
-
Why do you need enhancement cores then if you are not going to continue with the game?
-
Modifié par Lord Kielron : 1/24/2019 11:16:25 PMI can see what you are saying in that you do not have access to Spider to have a way to obtain said cores in a more direct means. When they first gave them to spider, I was arguing that since they are tied so closely with the masterworking mechanic (the only thing they should have EVER been meant for), that it should have been a gunsmith thing. That way even players without forsaken have a way of obtaining them through a vendor. Sadly that fell on deaf ears.

Its no pay-to-play. Its just -blam!-ing broken. The system doesn't work for those of us who are current with the game either. It just doesn't work unless you submit to the very NARROW way that Bungie wants us to play, and take the path through the game that Bungie is choreographing.
-
Well yeah it’s pay to play. This game was never advertised as a free to play game. If you don’t purchase the content obviously you won’t be able to play that said content if you don’t have forsaken you really don’t need to be max level to enjoy vanilla content.
-
No point in playing this game if you don’t have Forsaken
-
It really isn't. If you're F2P user, you shouldn't have to worry about doing things for endgame. Master working is pointless as a casual.
Bungie must make Spider available to all players since the enhancement economy applies to all players.
the economy for cores is -blam!-ed, i'll give you that, but you still have access to scrapper bounties and dismantles. Trust me, the spider core bounties are barely noticeable.

Modifié par DuBChiri2 : 1/24/2019 9:16:12 AMI don't even buy enhancement cores and I have around 19 of them right now. Unless scrapper bounties aren't a part of normal Destiny, what you said is pretty much talking out of your ads. If I'm wrong then feel free to correct me and insult me in any fashion you desire. I'm no baby back bitch, I accept I make mistakes. Please note the reason I have 19 is because I don't even bother masterworking my weapons anymore as I don't find it valuable nor cost friendly as I rapidly shift from weapon to weapon daily. I also only level pretty much 1 character, so there's that. For the way I play, I don't have too many issues with cores (I did back before scrapper bounties) but more so with the cost to actually masterwork gear. What, like 15 cores for a single weapon? Why couldn't it remain at like 10.
-
1) Can't believe people are still complaining about cores; it's a non-issue and should be considered spam on these forums at this point. 2) If you're vigilant about it you might get 7-14 cores per week from the Spider. I get way more from just playing the game normally than going to him. I buy some from him if happen to be in the neighborhood; that's about it. 3) Why do you expect to be able to play Forsaken content for free? Pay to play is fine. Pay to win is not. 4) If you didn't buy Forsaken, you're missing out on some of the best content Bungie has ever produced. Buy it.

Genuine question and not trolling: Why play this game if you aren't going to purchase the DLCs? I mean these annual pass ones suck, but Forsaken was fantastic with a ton to do. Why continue playing if you aren't going to level up? I do agree with most people though that cores shouldn't be used for infusion, only to masterwork.

Modifié par MusicCityTitan : 1/23/2019 6:46:09 PMDude, you have invested over a 1000 hours playing D2. You are in the top 6% of all players. WHY IN THE HELL WOULD YOU NOT BUY THE EXPANSION?!?! I could understand if you were major casual and only played here and there. You are missing out bigtime on the content. Buck up, spend $30, and ENJOY the game for what it is. You truly are missing out on a lot of content. https://www.wastedondestiny.com/2_4611686018434834818

Its because you should buy the new content to stay with the economy. You can’t just stagnate in a market, refuse to change, and expect to keep up.

Modifié par icecoldkidd : 1/24/2019 4:00:27 PMif you don't have forsaken I don't believe the cores should be that big of an issue - you are limited to year 1 weapons and as such the costs are less, plus if you have been around for any amount of time, they should be at or around max as well as MW (which also costs less). I am curious - what is your LL capped at?
-
I buy a core from spider once a week if even that, and never buy the second one at the increased cost and have plenty of cores.
-
If you didn’t get Forsaken you really shouldn’t be playing. How do you handle it, anyway? Forsaken was great and fixed so much...it’s mind boggling that you would be still here without Forsaken
-
Modifié par trafficlaw : 1/23/2019 4:50:55 PMAny other level 30 guardians that have not purchased Forsaken? Am I the only one?

Bump. Yet another cheap, underhanded shot by bungie to sell sub-par add-ons. Honestly any one who has been here for awhile can not possibly be surprised.
-
im sorry for everyone who still plays this game
-
Pay to play means your locked out of content if you dont buy it there are tons of other ways to get more masterwork cores you can get mad all you want but dont accuse bungie of making masterworks pay to play when its most definitely not
-
Wrong; masterwork/enhancement cores economy is actually Abundant for non forsaken owners, when compared to Y4 (or year 1 of D2), as they now drop from regular legendaries as well now, plus scrapper bounties. Otherwise you still get them from natural masterworked legendaries too.

Don’t let the beggers drag you down bud. These guys ooze negativity. This is the first post about enhancement cores limited availability that I agree with. It’s the first one where I completely agree with your point of view. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I have pretty much done all the game has to offer, so I am slightly bored at times. Just let me know and add me on psn.

Good point. They aren’t listening to us, Cozmo or anyone else. Heads in sand🤦♂️.
