So, many many many years ago I was big into Warhammer by Games Workshop. A table top miniature game. Many many years ago GW had their own forums. They closed them because of toxicity, as well as other factors, but mainly the negative vibe was taking root.
Looking at these forums, should Bungie close the forums to end the toxicity?
It would also free up assets for Bungie too. A forum is not a requirement or guarantee or necessity for any (game) company after all. It's a courtesy to the player community if anything. I think the community has lost that privilege with their behavior, IMHO.
If they were too, they'd need to develop a way players can reach out to Bungie with questions and concerns. Also a system to team up with other players for strikes and clans and so on.
When GW closed the forums a third party (many) sprung up. Dakkadakka for example. Maybe the different clicks regarding Destiny can go hang out with their own people that feel the same about destiny. The haters, the players that enjoy the game, and everything in between.
Once GW forums closed, their stock went back up, they gained players, and things got back on track.

Modifié par TheArtist : 7/3/2018 5:16:23 PMTo paraphrase Pres. Lyndon Johnson...... "You'd rather have them inside the tent, pissing out, than outside the tent pissing in." Getting rid of the forums won't do anything about toxic people. You'll have to evolve a better human being to fix that problem. The issue is how to manage the toxicity that exists. Better to have a place where people can vent their rage in a controlled fashion...than have it out there on the deck rolling around like a loose cannon.
