UPVOTE SO BUNGIE DEALS WITH IT
The title says it all but I will go into detail, I haven’t used the forums in a week or two so I wouldn’t be expecting any messages but a message pops up, on the destiny app, from a person named Audra.
The text said the following:
“Hi”
I immediately thought this was a bot so I decided to toy with it a bit and replied with “Yes?”
Now I didn’t get a response for a hot minute so I thought the bot was stupid or something so responded with a Hi and immediately got a response. It was quite a mouthful so I’m just gonna summarise it.
“Hi, this is gonna sound weird but I’m using my sisters account, my name is Cassy, how old are you?”
I thought this message was a bit weird so I checked the profile of this person but oddly enough, it lead to a blank blue page of nothingness. So this is when I thought this could be a potential predator as well even though it sounds a bit bizarre.
I still decided to play along and responded with 16.
No answer. I tried to get something but I was just ignored. So there’s two possibilities: Either A: This is some sort of bot that wants something or B: A child predator.
Now please don’t go sending hate to this account even though you can’t really, there are two possibilities and it’s a 50/50.
This could be a mentally challenged person for all we know who could be trying to make a friend. Don’t be too quick to judge, innocent until proven guilty.
Now the reason why I think this is a problem because I told my clan discord about this and one of them said that the same happened to them so I think this bot/predator is messaging everyone it can to achieve its goal of whatever.
So, if Audra messages you, spread the word and think twice. Whatever it is it’s probably breaking some rules.
EDIT: Credit to RustlerOfJimmies, could be a cam girl bot trying to promote a website, deal with it Bungie.

2 commentairesHey all, Thanks for the report. If you believe you've been contacted by a malicious account, please report the message immediately. Forum ninjas will ban as necessary. The Bungie.net team is investigating a way to root out bots. They're working hard on a permanent solution, and we'll let you know when we have more info. Cheers, -Dmg

[/quote] The Destiny companion app? I didn't know you could send messages thru it. Or was it the Playstation app? I get dumb messages all the time from "girls" in there.

Weird things like this happen on console live services too, and I've gotten a few. :/

It sounds like a bot which needs to be dealt with, it reminds me of those stupid robocalls that are so realistic you almost believe it's a person. Then again Bungie took forever getting rid of a guy on here who posted porn in threads years ago despite being reported all the time.

1 commentaireI have gotten a ton of these on my ps4 acct Occasionally on the x1 Its jus spamm accts Even on the Destiny club on x1 There always a ‘girl gamer’ as she says lol asking for people to follow her and play

Happens on Xbox from time to time. Last one I got said the person got my GT from a friend of his that played with me (which is impossible because I have no friends and hate people) but then right away asked how old I was etc etc. Blocked, reported, etc etc. If you got kids or teens on here (Xbox or psn), just like if you allow them to partake of social media, MONITOR it.

You’re a good guy to take the time to post about this. Good on you, man. Wish everyone were as upstanding and then we wouldn’t have to constantly worry about our children. I am like the alpha gorilla with my son. I’m chill until someone, male or female, I don’t like the look of gets too close then I grunt, roar, bare my teeth and beat my chest until they piss off. In this day and age people are just creepy mofos.

I got this on my ps4 account. I think it relates to a cam website. You might need to change your ps4 account privacy settings. I claimed I was younger than I was and told them to f*** off but they kept trying to offer me free tokens for use on the site. I said I was 12 and that they were technically child grooming but that didn't seem to stop the messages. Parents beware. Adjust privacy settings. And bump ;)

I had a similar message from someone named "Dulce"here at bungie.net and I got no response when I asked if we knew each other. I also had a message on PSN a while back from someone who wanted to know if I was an adult and when I said yes I recieved a link for a cam girl website that I never clicked on because I'm not stupid enough to fall for that

I get these random messages every so often too. I just ignore them.

4 commentairesAll you have to say is don't reply to the girls that say hi in pm

4 commentairesWait don't ignore her I have a theory.... Audra is Eris.... She uploaded her mind into the interwebs during the tower attack to try and warn us of the poops that is D2.... Makes total sense.. She is trying to save us from bungle. She couldn't respond to you again because they are trying to censor her... Damn intergalactic government.

The internet is like a vast ocean, and within it are endless predators.
