I chose not to smoke after it destroyed people around me, but that doesn't mean I don't understand why people smoke.

Doesn't have to be the same thing, the addiction doesn't change.

You can get addicted. It's not as common as tobacco, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't happen. Either way, it is my choice of lifestyle, and I don't judge anyone differently because of there lifestyle. Even if every one of us was brought up in the exact same way, we'd still be different because of the way we think. I respect that law of nature.
