Why? And please, no bullshit. Lets have an actual conversation about music here without insulting one another's "taste". To be honest, I only recently got into the band. I saw some related video on youtube as well as people comparing Muhammed to Chuck, so I gave 'em a listen. I'm mainly impressed with their live performences and Muhammed's abilty to sing and play without missing note or lyric.

I always liked the term "sonic wallpaper" for bands like Necrophagist. They have 0 depth to them at all, they exist for the sole purpose of wankery. Their songwriting is garbage and they don't understand the aesthetic of Death Metal. IF you want Progressive, technical, and abrasive and off the wall Death Metal, listen to Gorguts - Obscura. Still one of the few albums I have ever heard that I can say NOBODY sounds anything like and has never come close to sounding anything like.

Okay, I can respect that. Still going to listen to them though. I'll check out that Gorguts band too. While we're on the topic, what's your opinion of Obscura?
