How about ENERGY BOWS?
Or crossbows? They can still pack a big punch if they are all "futurified" or "spacemagic-ed"
It would feel nice to have somthing more physical that feels like apart of you. Even if it was just a spacemagic type of attack, it would be great to break away from all these little bullets you will be shoooting at people.

2 RespuestasCrossbows? Yes. Bows? No. The reason being that bows have (unfortunately) become sort of a cliché. Crossbows would be more... refreshing, for lack of a better word.

3 RespuestasI'd use it, be it longbow or crossbow. But it has to shoot super futuristic bodkin-style armor piercing arrows, And it can't make a noise like a rifle does, meaning a stealthy Guardian can get in and out of a fortification alone without too much trouble. The glorious thing about bows compared to rifles, is that it can fire in arcs, it doesn't need a direct line of sight to hit targets. Bungie could exploit this in-game and use it as a tactical change-up in gun fights, sure it won't do as much damage, but if you're hiding behind something, or on a reverse slope, the enemy is screwed.

13 RespuestasThe last Cracked.com podcast was about the Star Wars universe, and they brought up how awesome it would be to have other weapons that used the same tech that the light saber does (crossbows, bows and arrows, shields, etc.). I'd be all for it.
