[b]WARNING, IF YOU HAVE NOT YET SEEN THE BOOK 2 PREMIERE, THIS THREAD CONTAINS SPOILERS[/b] I enjoyed it overall, but Korra agitated me to no end. She's still the same character she was at the beginning of Book 1, claiming she's being caged in, but NEVER listening to what anyone says. And the worst part is that they're ALWAYS trying to [i]help her.[/i] She's constantly being a brat and it annoys me. It doesn't help that she's extremely gullible, and she doesn't really overcome anything in a satisfying way. Stuff just happens. Overall the characters remain the biggest issue. Mako pretty much turned into Korra's punching bag, which makes him [i]slightly[/i] more likable. Bolin doesn't seem to have any purpose aside from making us laugh, and the Twins, well... I like them, and I can sorta get that they were trying to make them sound monotone, but it ends up just sounding bad. Didn't get much out of Korra's dad, and Asami, the most likeable, most developed, and most relatable character from Book One gets shafted for the most part. All of the above is a shame, because Tenzin and his family are much more interesting, and I like his siblings. I also like where they're going with Jinora. The animation felt off when there were was no fighting, but it was not necessarily bad. The faces seemed stiff, characters are illustrated oddly at points, and the use of CG just looks out of place. It's not bad, it really isn't, but I suppose when you switch animation studios these things tend to happen. Now I understand that that these are the first two episodes, and things can change throughout the season, and I should repeat that I DID enjoy it, even with all of its flaws (I'm probably forgetting a few). But I want the show to get better, that is all. So what did you guys think? TL;DR: I liked it but the characters still need serious work.
