Do you stand for the pledge?
In America, for those who don't live here, pretty much every school does the pledge of allegiance when we say it. However, when we do it, sometimes I see those who stand and recite the pledge, while others sit apathetically and ignore it. I, for one, stand and put my hand on my heart when the pledge is recited, because I personally like my country. I think, although it is a -blam!-ed up political mess sometimes, it's still an awesome place.
Do you like your country or recite your pledge in your schools?

I always stand. Depending on the crowd present, I may put my hand over my heart, and in some cases, even mouth along. Basically I give it the same amount of effort as being in a group singing "Happy Birthday" to someone.

1 RespuestaI stopped standing for the pledge in high school. Usually, when the morning announcements started, people would just keep talking, so we couldn't hear the pledge anyway.

When I was in ROTC I was taught to stand at attention during the pledge. I usually don't say a word but sometimes I'll recite it.

If a little bit a patriotism would motivate people to make their country better, that's great and should always be supported. If they're doing it just to feel superior to other countries, then they're missing the point.

I stand for the pledge because standing shows support for my country the under god is just 2 words the first sentence is all that matters. I pledge allegiance thats what I stand for

2 RespuestasI'm not American, but I can honestly say If there were a similarly practiced pledge here I wouldn't do it. I find nationalism and patriotism deeply problematic constructs.

Nope, live in Canada so all I have to do is stand for the anthem then we start our engines and begin the day.

We do the pledge 3 times a week... in fact, we just did it like 10 minutes ago. But in all honesty, it's just a waste of time...

No. You only ever need to say it once in your life. Once you've pledged your allegiance you don't have to say the pledge again. And do I like my country? Depends on when religion is going to stay the hell out of politics.
