I for one am happy about it. We can have a mix of everyone. People are so stupid and ignorant and are racist. They can't realise that Humans are the same. WE ARE THE SAME!
I totally support Multiculturism. Yes I am "white". I am the "race" that belongs to this country
People also say immigration Increases unemployment rates. Think about this only 10% of the UK is not "White"/British. Ye...
My friend got stabbed a month ago. He was Indian...ye the guy who did it was saying racist stuff and laughing while he repeatedly stabbed my friend. Is he alive? Just about made it. You don't know how serious it was. It was a miracle! Took one month and he came out of Hospital yesterday...
I actually hope that immigration will even the UKs races. I mean like 40-50% Not British or Welsh or Scottish and basically other races/cultures and the other 50% is Welsh, scottish and British.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-504354/White-Britons-minority-dozen-towns-30-years.html#axzz2KcJJwrGn I am actually happy about this...Hopefully they cut down on the immigration when the other races reach about 50% of Britians Population.
EDIT FORGOT TO MENTION THIS CREDITS TO FATMAN: The thing they should do is make the immigrants sign an agreement to not try to change the law to fit/benefit with their culture.
Ahh well back to the question...I strayed off and got carried away... Brits what are your opinions on multiculturalism in the uk?
Wait let me ask one more question...Do you White Brits hate British immigrant descendants. Who are born here and called British but not white? I don't

I thought not supporting multiculturalism over there was enough to land you in jail for not checking your privilege?
-
I'm fine with it. To build better societies people must work together, and with the globalisation of everything, multiculturalism will continue. What I have a problem with is the British people and the press stereotyping minorities as imposing cultures upon us and/or being lazy. For instance you can probably count on one hand the amount of Muslim immigrants (note first generation) who want Sharia law in Britain. But supremacists will label all Muslims (first, second or third generation) under that false image. I also find it hypocritical when white immigrants (e.g. Australians, Western Europeans, Americans) receive none of the same labelling that other immigrants will do. Therefore it appears to me that these so called 'protectors of British tradition' are to some extent racist. /opinions.
-
Didn't David Cameron and also Angela Merkel admit a few years ago that multiculturalism was a failure for both of their countries?
-
i share a house with some African girls. because where they come from their climate is much hotter than here, they feel the need to have the heating on full all day, every day; even in the summer and they refuse to put warm clothing on unless they're going out. bloody immigrants! srsly tho; i don't care who come and live here so long as they respect our cultures and laws. although tbh, quite a lot of ethnically British people disregard those two anyway.
-
DEES IS MUSLIM AREA FOLLOW SHARIA OR DIE HUMMMAAAS HEY ALLAH MACARENA!
-
If they follow our laws, don't try to change the laws to suit them (Sharia law), pay taxes and bother to learn English, work and accept and follow our customs and traditions (Don't complain about Christmas, etc) then they are welcome to stay as far as im concerned. If they don't want to do any of that or only a couple of those things, then they can bugger off, if we want to go and work/live in another country, that country would quickly throw us in jail.
-
One of the reasons I love Canada. We celebrate our multiculturalism like there's no tomorrow.
-
-shrug- As long as: 1. They don't believe that Britain is theirs and theirs alone and that they are superior to other people or are entitled to anything. 2. They do not attempt to force their religious laws or claim Britain belongs to their religion. 3. They do not impede the progress of medical research or any other scientific research. Then I'm fine with it.
-
I am happy with - nay, proud of - multiculturalism in the UK, although I'm in quite a conservative area that's >90% white. Even those who claim not to be happily reap (but ignore) its benefits.

I'm not sure how to interpret the OP, it just seemed like a mess. So I'll just reply to the title instead: I am ok with the way that multiculturalism is in this country right now, but I don't like the thought of the country being 50% British and 50% other (<- you'll have to excuse my ignorance, I can't seem to formulate my thoughts into words appropriate at the moment). I think it's an important part of being British to have a very diverse and mixed community, and having a multicultural society is something I really think defines the UK. Sadly tolerance is not always present when it comes to diversity, but I think if we give it time we'll all be getting along just swell.
-
I don't object to people on the basis of race, colour or creed - but if being snooty about Geordies makes me racist then so be it.

Editado por Madman Mordo: 2/11/2013 7:49:40 PMPretty much what Fatman said. Take a look at these thugs, (yes thugs) enforcing Shariah law on the streets of London, removing non Islamic yet completely legal virtues from people.
-
I'm up for multiculturalism. But I don't really care about it, I still treat them as same as anybody treat me. There are bigger problems to worry about now.
-
Did you just make all of this up? We don't hate immigrants, we hate immigration. It's the government who is being stupid it's not like we are blaming the individuals.
-
I hear you Brits treat your hindus like how our country treats mexicans.
-
I'm all for it as long as they don't change the laws.

Editado por FoMan123: 2/11/2013 7:27:04 PMLondon is one of my top 2 or 3 favorite cities in the world and a large part of it has to do with just how multicultural it is. I have no doubt that race and racism are issues in the UK just like it is everywhere in the world (and your story confirms it), but in the United States it's front-and-center AT ALL TIMES, every day, in the news, in the media, everywhere, and it can really grate on you after awhile. Whenever I have spent time in London, race and racism issues seem to come up a lot more rarely. People can just be people and focus on things that matter. It's a better way to live.
-
Where I live there is barely any multiculturalism at all so it's not an issue that comes up often with people round here. The only immigrants that came here recently started a fantastic Chinese Restaurant, so yeah, I'm all for multiculturalism.
-
Only problem with it, is when people come to this country then try to get the law changed to fit with their culture.

Editado por Ichthyosaur: 2/11/2013 8:01:27 PMI'm a Brit. Of course I am happy with races and religions mixing in society. I myself am not white. However, one thing I don't like is when people try to override our culture with theirs, like all these people bitching about how Britain belongs to Allah. To clarify. It's a good thing that other cultures are present in Britain. It's not good when people try to override the britsh culture
-
As long as they don't bitch and complain that their religion isnt law.. Oh wait..
-
I'm all for immigration, as long as we only let the smart and useful ones in.
-
As long as they don't behave the way they do in the US.
