I was expecting to correct the OP to change his topic to July in Texas... Talking about the electric bills, mine are very low, because we have a fireplace. I love that fireplace.

We got snow on Christmas Day, which is really unusual. We rarely get snow and almost never that early. It has been unusually balmy for the past week though.

It snowed back in my hometown ( east texas) and the snow stuck for several days. But here in Houston this week, its been in the 80s.

Same in Austin, very mild and a bit humid lately. I hope we get at least one more cold snap before winter is truly over.
