I just had a match in which both extremes of those player types were in. Let me explain. We got matched and spawned for Rift on Bannerfall. Enemies has that one player that has high ping (I won't name any names of course), so he picks up the Spark and is LITERALLY immune to everything but a sniper headshot. He literally had worse ping than NASAs Mars rovers. On the other side, in our team, a player that throws after 2 rounds lost and just goes to the balcony-areas on Bannerfall, crouching in a corner, not helping to fight off the lagging spark runner or any team mate of his. Both of those players massively impacted the gameplay in a negative way for our team. One person EXCLUSIVELY lagging so hard that one would think of old D1 "lag-switching" moments, while the other has given up on life and rather decided to be the D-head letting his team mates down. Both of those player should not be able to stay/access Competitive with such behavior. The lagging person should get disconnected instead of forcefully being kept in by your (Bungie) systems, ruining everyone else experience on the opposing team. The other person, that intentionally griefs his team and actively disrupts any chance to win, should be outright banned for a few hours/days for such behavior. Even if you lose in a competitive match, you should still keep trying or suffer the consequences of being a bad team player. And just as reminder. I am playing with my buddy, helping him with his placements matches. So griefing people of that type are not just "ruining a match". They are ruining also placements and later potentially rank points gained with their inappropriate behavior.
