The Witness doesn’t need the Warmind’s power.
It’s just a highly valuable war asset has been left open for the taking, so it is trying to seize it.
Not to mention it knows we’re trying to bring Rasputin back online, so it’s also partially about attempting to lock us out.

I don't understand why it would try to lock us out. Bungo made it abundantly clear that Rasputin and all his alleged power was meaningless and frail in the face of the Witness and Pyramids. As in they didn't even try to sneak in and took no casualties while holding Rasputin's head in the toilet and laughing. It feels like a strange 180 to now have Rasputin be something important to the enemy.

Editado por Shockwave 989: 12/7/2022 6:57:56 AMNot all of the Witnesses forces are immune to the Warmind’s arsenal. The Scorn, Fallen and Cabal under its banner for example. Rasputin could easily even the odds on that front. Even the larger Hive force wouldn’t exactly be immune to conventional weaponry. Not to mention our own Eliksni and Cabal allies, as well as the citizens of the Last City. All of who could easily be obliterated by a system wide network of weaponry. The Witness is confident in its victory, but not overconfident. It seeks to take every advantage and deny us any opportunity.
