So I have been a Destiny player since the Alpha of D1 all those summers ago and other than a few weeks here and there have been pretty active in the game. I loved the raids, gunplay, the friends I made. Sure the game has had a fair share of problems but this most recent drought really opened my eyes to just how bad it is now. This could not have come at a worse time for Bungie. I go from a game that had bugs which effected triumphs, activities, connectivity, took seasonal exotics away for most of the season. Just felt like everything was broken or not working as intended. Then there's just the overall lack of content itself. A D1 raid isn't new content. Essentially we got a really lame story and activities that admittedly were cool the first week or two then wore their welcome super quick. Then there is the disaster that was the FotL which asked for money yet had the same issues and bugs in the activity from LAST YEAR. Halloween is my fav holiday and the only time I dip my toe in the cash shop is when this event comes. But seeing just how blatantly greedy they were this time around asking for more money for an "event pass" which should be free for the $250 collectors editions of the expansions I buy. (That's a topic we can debate another day) I just said screw this stopped playing the activity and bought nothing. Then I just kind of stopped all together. I popped in a few times for random things such as that hilariously bad "community event" that thank god got bugged because had the player base actually spent 2 weeks bashing their skulls in for railings and corn... Lord help the mods. Then we have a "finale" which isn't even an in game cut scene. It's just an animation of Saint and Osiris sucking face after we use Nezerac to make.... tea? I guess idk. The thing is the kiss and all that has zero impact on what I like or didn't like. It was the execution. The season was a total waste from top to bottom. So in my absence I have been playing Call of Duty. A flawed yet competent PvP FPS that just gave me a breath of fresh air and enjoyed a AAA PVP experience again. As things stand I can never set foot in crucible again and that would be fine with me. It's a lost cause at this point. Considering they just now told us they have a team making us.... Brace yourselves... One... New... Map.... Then on top of that I played God of War Ragnarok and that was a game that made me realize what a AAA game should be like in 2022. The details. The gameplay. The story which I absolutely loved. I was literally cheering at my monitor at times playing that game. I look at Destiny now and I'm like wtf happened to you Bungie? Why is everything THIS BAD. Idk man. It sucks. I came on here to just voice my opinion. Already have the next season purchased but I too have a foot out the door. This game has no value anymore as far as gameplay and content and it sucks because I loved Destiny. Thousands of hours have been spent on it. But it just looks like Bungie has mailed it in and I think I am on my way out if things don't improve FAST. TLDR - Compared to the games out today this one has no excuse being this messy. AAA games today run circles around whatever this is and I am getting tired of it.
