I have said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again. All mods need to be added as rewards from doing playlist activities, Strikes/pvp/gambit are the perfect place for new players to gain access to them and old returning players to farm any they are missing. At this point it feels like whoever is in charge of this stuff at Bungie is purposely trying to drive away new/returning players by locking them out of a huge part of the gameplay by putting it behind a RNG time-gate.

Seems a lot of folks think they should drop in playlist activities and more so during harder activities. I too think that would be excellent. I mean, I'd even play Gambit if I knew it just dropped the charged with light mods I didn't have. I mean, there's 3 types of mods (right now)... 3 playlist activities... There's something there. I hope the Bungie person reading the thread sees all these good ideas and makes some headway on proposing changes.
