Handicap and Difficulty Levels
With this system they could easily remove the light level grind.
Self applied Handicap modifiers such as % take more damage or % outgoing damage reduced would increase challenge and rewards for the player. Maybe increased chances to obtain reward listed in specified Difficulty.
Difficulty level would be what we have now Adept, Hero, Legend, Master, Grandmaster which reward higher tier items as the difficulty increases.
This way if you want the challenge and want increase chance of rewards there’s a way to play however you want.
There could be triumphs/titles associated with beating activities with max level Handicaps applied.
There are others games like Souls-Like/Massocore games that have handicap systems that make the replayability higher and more fun/challenging.
I for one would like this kinda like the old card you did for nightfalls to get higher points. Get tired of grinding artificial light lvl just to be able to do GMs. This season haven't played much due to burnout.
