Double perk weapons create major power creep, it not only renders NF loot redundant, and people who say it wont dont understand that, world loot drops and seasonal drops, there are weapons that if they offered 2 perk columns it can be better than what a NF offers as an alternative (not every NF weapon is a godly weapon) imagine being able to craft an Austringer with 3-4 perks available........ might as well make other handcannons useless. 2 perk columns would also render ANY need to farm for vanguard ranks because again, not every weapon they offer is "good" and alternatives exist and chances are alternatives will be added that will exceed some pre existing weapons from strike pool. You would also render 2 perk column weapons from seasonal activities useless. 2 perk column crafting just creeps into too many domains of the looting system that D2 already offers.
I'm failing to understand how multiple perk columns on crafted weapons would be power creeping anything. Since you can still only use 1 perk per column, there's not really any difference between having 1 gun with multiple selectable perks and 2 guns with those columns separated Convenience creep maybe

Say that to how adept versions from GMs and Master raids are better than there equivalents, it makes them more sort after and easier to farm for god rolls as a result. thats why ppl will always (if they can) go for the 2 perk column weapons. even if we exclude adept mods (as crafting gives you that extra bonus at lvl 20 anyways) Its ironic because your valid argument can be reversed on to itself with simply saying "why are people so gung ho on wanting 2 perk columns craftable" when at the end of the day you will literally only have "2 perks to select from" so you could argue its a non-issue BUT the real issue is, you could potentially have up to 3 or 4 enhanced perks on a single weapon (name a weapon that can do this) NOT A SINGLE ONE. even adepts would be powercrept if this was allowed in crafting. if bungie decided to only allow 2 enhanced perks on a 4 perk craftable weapon, what would even be the point of crafting that when you would be better of crafting 2 with 2 sets of enhanced perks. You had a valid argument to that statement but didnt realise when you look at it from another angle, no matter how you view it, crafting 3 or 4 perks on a weapon would powercreep every single weapon in the game ESPECIALLY if these could also be enhanced. Persistent levels outright solves every gripe with crafting, keeps every weapon relevant, keeps resources relevant and makes it worthwhile crafting multiple versions to have different setups for whatever reason. no chance in hell should crafting 2 perk column weapons be added because it will go 2 ways, either bungie limits the enhanced perks to 2 (makes the point of 4 perks worthless if you swap to a non-enhanced perk) or they allow 3 or 4 enhanced perks which then makes them best in slot weapons over anything obtainable current from a loot drop.

  • I thought the same. Doesn't matter if I have 2 rows of perks or two guns. I'm just gonna swap between the two as needed.
