They vaguely mentioned their reasoning once in the past... From a competitive standpoint they want you to be able to see and instantly recognize what an enemy player is using so you can adjust your tactics.
The logic is utter bullshit and honestly the sound of the weapon tells you what someone is using before you see it but once Bungle has made a bad decision they fight ferociously to keep their dicks in the hornets nest no matter how many times they get stung.
But that is why they do it. They don't want you to make a gun difficult to recognize by it's coloring. It's also part of why we don't have a matt black finish. It provides numerous competitive tactical advantages and they don't want everyone to just start running solid black weapons and guns.

That was about exotic armor and transmog, the reason they won't allow shaders on weapons is so they can sell you ornaments in eververse, I mean half of the ornaments are just different colors, like the yellow no time to explain and the purple Le Monarque , that doesn't change the appearance at all -
That's a really dumb reason because alot of the exotic weapons share the same weapon frame as legendary weapons, so you really won't have an idea as to what's being used until they kill you with it. This isn't Halo where there's a small weapon set that can be easily distinguished, there's hundreds of guns in Destiny and they're not exactly unique in design

If you think I'm defending it, I'm not. I agree it's stupid. But bungie gonna büng..
-
No I figured you weren't defending it, just saying if that's their reasoning that's dumb
-
Actually that was for exotic transmog they never gave a reason for weapon exotics not being able to use shaders

Editado por BOSSNONO254: 6/10/2022 5:50:33 PMBungie is quite foolish for this kind of excuse. They could still sell ornaments but have you put a shader over certain ones that change the weapons appearance entirely. Like Izanagis which makes it look like a sword, a solid matte black shader would make it bad a$$. This also comes into play for different shaders, I’m tired of getting my hopes up for an ultra onyx sleek black shader. Well get a dark shader for sure alright, but there’ll be a god dam purple or yellow, or even a blue on it that will make you sigh and switch back to the amethyst veil shader.
-
I think this is more towards putting legendary ornaments on exotic armor.
-
greed is why die once to a guy it straight tells you what they're using that shader excuse tf?
-
I’m never paying attention to what gun my opponents using. Like if he’s got thorn I’m not scanning him to figure out ways to counter thorn it’s just point and shoot for me.
-
Don't worry, I'd never wear ugly black, I'd be all red, the brightest most colorful neon red.
-
I wish they would bring back the God of War shader from D1, which was 100% dark red.
-
Yup I only ever had that, and my brother had double banshee, except i remember there being another red shader, it was the opposite of glowhoo, it was from a raid, so i never got it. 😔
-
Yes, the bright red eyesore from Wrath of the Machine. I rocked that all of the last year of D1 to blind my clanmates and people in the tower.

Sounds like everything I'd strive to be
