LOTR: BFME2 - I loved trolling in this RTS, and the 3v1 gametype was a lot of fun. Chromehounds - I loved being able to fully customizes mechs in this. Would often just make a snake on wheels (literally just a head, bracers to make the body and 2 little rockets), and would somehow win. I also loved the emblem customization on this.

 • Yesss, BFME!! I never played the second one, but I remember having loads of fun in the first.

 • I had the opposite experience, where I've only played the second. I really loved playing as the goblins. It was one of two factions that had a unit that could cause friendly fire, and I used that to ensure my teammates didn't rush in a 3v1 match.

 •
Chromehounds
Alll the current mech titles seen so, "meh" to me. My two faves (almost polar opposites in style) are both from the OG Xbox. MechAssault, for me, made Xbox Live worth having. It's arcade style simplicity was great, but the variety of play styles based on mech choice was actually deep and well-balanced. Still waiting on a new iteration, if the legal rights from FASA ever get sorted out. Then there's Steel Battalion. Not much to say about that game and it's monstrous controller, except that I wish I'd never sold mine. Or, that maybe Capcom should revisit the idea after having stated that no one would ever pay that much for a peripheral again (as I look at a flight stick and two Elite 2 controllers). That thing was straight up amazing.

 • I never really got into mech games, but I recall playing a lot of MechAssasult when it came out. Chromehounds really appealed to me because you had so much freedom to create whatever you wanted.
