Chicken is a connection error. A couple things you can try first before digging further into network troubleshooting. If you're playing via wifi, switch to Ethernet and try the game to see if that resolves the issue. Shut down your computer. Go to your router and unplug it from power. If separate from your router, unplug your Internet modem/gateway from power as well. Leave these devices disconnected from power for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes reconnect power, power on the network and once up start your computer and try the game again. If you're running anti-virus and/or firewall software on your computer, try disabling/closing them as they could be blocking D2's network traffic. If you find this resolves your issue then you'll need to investigate your software's settings to allow D2 network traffic.
