I think Wyverns are the first combat frame vex we've encountered. Could he wrong, i haven't refreshed on the lore in ages.

Same, and I am not sure what lore is even linked to Wyverns.

There's a lore tab on the age-old bond (last wish auto) that mentions praedyth fighting wyverns, or something along those lines. It's the only one I can think of.

The creatures praedyth fights in that lore tab are shapeshifted ahamkara, that was during the great hunt when guardians decided to drive the wish dragons to extinction. The lore may have used the word wyverns, but I dont think it meant to connect to vex wyverns, especially since beyond light didnt come out for another two years, and it's likely that bungie hadnt even started making vex wyverns at that point.
