I'm pretty sure I got mine and didn't use Suros. I'm pretty sure a majority of my catalysts were earned in this same manner.

I just find it rather suspicious that someone told me to use SUROS in crucible matches to earn the catalyst, and they were right on the money as I got it 6 games later from starting to use the weapon. I doubt my RNG is so bad that I wouldn't unlock the catalyst during Iron Banner week, a week where I played over 100 matches across all 3 characters.

Ok. Probably just a coincidence. The only requirement is just to have the gun.
