Xur exotic cipher quest bug
Had an exotic cipher in inventory, visited xur with a completed exotic cipher quest. No exotic cipher was awarded or sent to post master, quest is gone, and I can't aquire this week's exotic cipher quest from xur now either. Quick search on reddit shows many others have had this issue as well. Seems you should be able to either not turn in the quest, or the cipher should go to the post master.

In my case I did not already have an Exotic Cipher, the Xenology Quest just automatically completed when approached Xur and did not grant me the Exotic Cipher. This has happened to me twice now since December of 2020. There should be a dialogue box or something that let's us "Choose" if we want to turn it in or give us a clear warning!!! So frustrated and upset.. this is one of the things that I look forward to playing for every week, since I'm mainly a Solo Player and is the only way to get some of those Exotics that are nearly impossible for the average Solo Player to get!! When it happened the first time I thought it must have just done something wrong or some kind of fluke.. but twice now??? C'mon Bungie! Please investigate and reward those lost ciphers! Feel like I wasted my weekend on this.. Sorry for the rant.. Sigh..

6 RespuestasHey, Unfortunately, your account can only ever hold one exotic cipher, and any ciphers that cannot go into your inventory will not go to the postmaster, they will simply be lost. Although it is not given as an option, you do not have to accept the cipher from Xur when speaking to him, you can dismiss the dialogue (I believe B is the default key on Xbox) spend the cipher in your inventory and then speak to Xur again to complete the quest. As you can only hold one Xenology quest at a time, and you had one when Xur spawned this week, he will not have one for you again until next week.
