We are only getting 1 totally brand new strike
We are getting 0 new crucible maps
We are getting 0 new gambit maps
I’m not trying to shit on Beyond Light. The story, enemies, exotics, supers, and locations look amazing. Tbh I’m super excited for the no time to explain rework. But it’s kinda hard when the 3 core modes get next to nothing.

I’d almost be willing to bet the vendors don’t even get a refresh and that factions won’t even be back. Minimal effort maximum profit is how bungie operates. D1 used to get updated frequently with refreshes etc because they weren’t primarily focused on eververse. Now look at it, majority of the loot is behind eververse, no vendor updates apart from tess every 3 months and with seasonal events like the dawning, festival etc.
-
I’m only going to check it out because of Game Pass. I doubt I’ll play it much, since it’s just the same repetitive grind. Grind up light by doing the same activities as before-with less maps to do them in, and weapons I enjoyed getting sunset.

1. Bungie has never treated the strike playlist for D2 like they treated it in D1. I think its because they don't want people hiding out there and doing nothing but grinding strikes hour after hour. Bungie wants us to play the "whole game", and they don't want to give us a reason to hide out. Also strikes loose their replay value quickly. What's THREE strikes.....when you drop them into a playlist that already has SEVENTEEN of them. They quickly become background noise. Bungie seems to get much more replay value from activities like Sundial and Contact. Where play for an entire season can focus around that new activity. Rather thatn story missions that we won't replay, and strikes that just fade into the woodwork after a week. 2. How is Bungie going to monetize it? They can't charge for it....and trying to make up that money with sellign cosmetics just pisses off PvE players. I believe Bungie is slowly boiling the frog. They aren't going to kill PvP outright (way too much negative publicity). But I think you are seeing Bungie start to SLOWLY remove support from PVP with the goal of letting it wither and die. 3. See above.

But thats destiny's model. I stopped playing d1 after crota(don't think that needs much explanation) despite all my friends saying "it's SO much better now", i was done. D2 comes along and I'm like "why not, it looks pretty good" i get on and im like "wtf? There is less now then year 1 d1" all my friends who played d1 religiously rage quit and never came back and i can understand that, years of work farming, grinding levels EVERYTHING gone, its the same guardian in the same universe, everything you did in d1 is referenced in d2 but now there is no content and nothing you did mattered. If eso can bring out entire new regions to expand the playable area year on year, slowly creating a complete playable map of tamriel, filled with story quests, side quests, dungeons, trials, weapons, armor etc. Without the need to remove 40% of the game that is already 10× larger in scope and scale compared to destiny, bungie clearly has scummy ideas dressed up as good ones.

I have been looking at it and yeah, this exp does not offer me anything as a player. I play destiny because i like playing a power fantasy shooter, and that power fantasy includes me using the weapons i find fun to use, which is now being gutted, and playing the space cowboy sharp shooter. I have zero desire to play any new subclass for anything, because why. Im getting really REALLY freaking tired of bungie trying to tell me how i have to have fun in their game, by limiting the weapons i can use, limiting which ones get the super specical anti champion mode, removing weapons and arc types rather then just addressing the few problem child weapons.

It's pretty laggy right now. Makes me think the new dlc is bigger than what we are shown. Most games are like that just before a big update...I'm pretty sure that's what I've experienced in the past anyway with other games and this one

IMO BL is really a bad deal for the player base. When you look at what they are not adding to the game that an expansion normally would have added, what they are removing from the game that is a hell of a lot of content, and sunsetting. BL no matter how shiny it looks is a bad deal. What are they adding to this game that they haven't added in 6 years other than the subclass?
Basicly nothing.
-
I'm gonna get hate for this, but I could care less about gamble and krukibl, I'm in Destiny for campaign, pve and lore. Not to get on those who like pvp
-
They might still be holding back info.
-
It'll probably another expansion like shadowkeep
-
As a casual this is perfectly fine to me, ONLY as long as the story will be lengthy enough and in and enjoyable. To which Bungie can do.
-
Seriously, it doesn’t look good at all. HUGE amount of content going away (to clearly be sold back to us later as “new” content). And if there is not a very big single player story with lots of story missions (Bungie has really skimped of this in the past two years), there isn’t much else that is new. Beyond Light...on content.
-
Except for technical details of BL, I have not jumped on the hype wagon this time around. I haven't watched any videos or watched any Bungie vidocs on the DLC. But from everything I have read? There is no way I am buying a 50 buck DLC like this. None of my friends are either. Bungies sunsetting storm hit us longtime players just a bit too hard and we all new what they woud end up doing when they did it. Now they are doing exactly what people thought they would. Bungie showed very little respect for players time and collections with sunsetting. Now that decision is going to really cost them in returning players. Not one person I have played with over the past 6 years is even remotely interested in coming back to the game anytime soon.
-
They are showing something shiny that you want, then to realize you beat the story in 2 hours. Then its back to the bounty simulator
-
So you think that the pathetic trailer of the same old specie/fallen now giving a speech is good? Lmfao
-
Yet another expension i dont care about. The glourios time of destiny are over. We have better games
-
I said months ago, it’s basically $50 for a subclass and to have things removed
-
the only thing you’re excited about in this, the No Time To Explain, is most likely gonna get a huge nerf
-
Yep this is the first time i'm real hesitant about buying the expansion. I already played a good amount of destiny 1 so, replaying those strikes again just isn't getting me excited. Paying money to get less content that I can play right now just doesn't feel good.
-
Bungie hardly working (I mean hard at work right there) remember to thank them You lose more gear than whats gained, you lose more maps and things to play than whats added.
-
Guardian,Archon Of Light
Blade Of The Traveler - antiguos
The only thing I’m not looking for is the massive power leveling we are going to have to do ,200 levels is steep, and this time there will be no forge farming shortcut -
I’ll get it.
AFTER, the reviews. Made the mistake of pre ordering Anthem. I don’t want to tell you how much it cost....
-
Don't forget, we are also getting the power of OLAF! Everytime you use your STASIS ability, you make an OLAF! You cast a STASIS rift, you make an OLAF! You do a STASIS shadestep, you make an OLAF! You throw a STASIS Shuriken, you make an OLAF! You do a STASIS Titan missile melee, you make an OLAF! You throw STASIS grenades, you make an OLAF! You use your STASIS Supers, you make an OLAF! You use any STASIS Subclass abilities or supers, you make an OLAF! Darkness is OLAF! Bungie Logic!

Unfortunately for guys like myself the game has become very repetitive and it will take a monumental change in almost every aspect to get many long termers fully engaged again. In short it will almost have to be a new game. Great for new guys though, I wish I were starting it all over again as in all fairness there’s been many a good time had.
-
I’m just mainly looking forward to the story to be honest.
-
We've heard your feedback, so nerf fusion rifles?
