Implications of Asher Mir’s Sacrifice.

Recently, we learned of the fate of Asher Mir after the season of arrivals. That is, he brings the Pyramidion’s lake down on him. This could mean that he is giving himself to the Vex, as we see in the lore no Vex fire upon him, what could this mean. Previously in Destiny 1, we broke into the Vault of Glass and using Kabr’s Aegis we were able to change our fate. Later on when the Taken invaded the system, Praedyth was able to communicate to us, and we were able to use his traces to get No Time to Explian. What could this mean about the Vex intelligence network? Are Gaurdians able to keep a part of their identity from being completely assimilated to the vex? In Destiny 2, we meet a Harpy on Nessus. The Vex intelligence network deems it as the previous captain of the Exodus Black, Caption Jacobson. Looking at the story of Captain Jacobson, we see that in his last transmission to the Exodus, the Vex either shout a war cry or a greeting. Later on we find his body in one of the caverns of the centaur planet. This has to mean that either, The captain greeted the Vex and allowed them to study him, or Jacobson was able to evade long enough to get to a cavern. Either way, Captain Jacobson was somehow preserved in the vex system enough to speak to us. If a Golden age human can keep an Identity in the Vex network, then a guardian such as Asher must be able to have some sort of traceable identity somewhere in the system. This could include a Possible future storyline of finding parts and trying to communicate with Asher Mir again. Let me know if I am missing anything.
