I have been asked many times why I am the BudgieKing, and what’s a budgie....
The answer is not just, I love budgies, it’s actually a sad story, that’s be Long, so I will try to shorten it....
Flashback to 2013, it’s June and I have been invited to my friends home for his Bday, and during this trip, I learned that he owned a pair of budgies, named vinnie, and poly, they both were in separate cages, the yellow one was vinnie, and the green one was poly, they lived a tragic life, poly was mentally abused, and when she tried to fly, they knocked her out of the sky with pillows and would be attacked by the cat...
Vinnie had a horrible diet of Big Macs and nuggets, and his sister took him to her house, and when he came back, he was flightless, a month later, he fell into hot wax, and also not to mention being sucked into a shopvac....
The reason why I mention these guys specifically is the fact that of August 2014, they were given to me By my as they could not support the pair anymore....
During their time, they pair were reunited together, and lived a happy life....
They got baths, they got proper diet, and most importantly, vinnie (who was a dude) got to go into a massive cage with 3 females, who all loved him....
But things changed when early 2019 arrived.... poly died from a unique condition called eggbindiding, and vinnie fell into depression...
We helped him, the other birds supported him, sky his last minute mate, unfortunately died from the same fate as poly, due to vinnie increased attention to her, he mistakenly activated her egg laying hormones....
He fell into deep depression, until we got him a friend, uranium, or yuri, was a dude keet who cared for vinnie....
But something bad happened.... vinnie left side of his body began to malfunction, he could not move his leg, and could not move fast....
After a few days of what ever happened, he passed as well....
This was January 1st 2020, my family tried to discover why he had this issue, the vets don’t take budgies cause what can they do?
Budgies can’t have surgery, they bleed out from 15 drops, they can’t have medication, they can easily overdose.....
From that day, I became the BudgieKing, he ended up loved, and babied, and spoiled with treats....
And my final gift to him , through the life he lived, was to permanently remember him, and I he became my logo for my planned company....
Vinnie was special to me, and I’m glad I could give him the best life a bird with a disability could have...
I also don’t blame my friend for this, it was not him who did the damage, it was his grandmother and sister who don’t know how to handle budgies...
I thank you for reading this, and I hope you guys understand me more....
I have plans for more serious posts, but for now I have one question for y’all....
Have you guys had a similar experience.....
while I post this, my sisters cat is sitting on my face, it smells like shit, and the cat is bony, every time I remove her, she returns.... Any way to deal with her....
1 RespuestaI had a yellow budgie named Nippy for a little bit, but we decided to give her away to a neighbor because she became lonely after my grandmothers cockatiel died. I believe she is doing okay.

5 RespuestasWell that's nice of you. We tend to forget that birds have feelings and personalities too, just like other more common household pets like cats & dogs. Never understood people with reptiles or arachnids though. They seem to be totally devoid of emotion. This will probably be a horror story to you, but; Back when I was young, we lived out in the country. Neighbors were the houses you could see in the distance. It was a farm, no animals besides cats and a dog, with a woods behind the fields. But as a young country kid, I learned to shoot, and I was good at it. I killed dozens of pigeons that pooped all over the barn, and burrowed into the walls, how they did it I have no idea, as well as other pest birds like starlings. I hated starlings for they were noisy, dirty, destroyed any possible soffit of opening they could find to make a nest in buildings. One year they were so bad that they were like locusts, cleaning out wheat and corn fields everywhere in the midwest. In the evenings they darn near darkened the sky there were so many. One day I was out with the intent to reduce their numbers, and shot one tight off a small tree's branch. It fell lifelessly to the ground. In another nearby tree, a prior unseen starling immediately turned it's head to me, and instead of flying away as they normally do, it started shrieking at me with a sound I had never heard them make before. For as long as it took me to reload and re-pump up my pellet gun, it sat there screaming at me. It fell with my next shot. It didn't dawn on me until after I killed them both that I must have killed it's mate or it's baby, even though it was a full grown bird, and no longer in a fledgling state nor time of year, I never before thought about a bird having an emotional attachment to anything. I didn't kill too many more except those I found burrowing into the house after that.

1 RespuestaOrigin of my name: I'm portuguese, I was reading about the Man o War warships, thought it was cool. Was creating my PS account back in like early 2016 I think, was 12 at the time and I like the letter R, so r2. Used underscores because PS doesn't allow spaces.
